Match TB it will be, and the interlopers seem to have the momentum. My dream of retribution is on the line, here. Forza!

Sara said it at the end of her speech, "I think this one is also for all of the doubles players who couldn't play this tournament." Good for her, for saying it.

Currently ranked No 20 in the world, Frenchman Arthur Fils, has withdrawn from the USO
Fils was forced to withdraw at Wimbledon, meaning he will miss out on the finals 2 majors of the season, Fils fractured his back earlier this year
A LL will replace him in the draw, with the ongoing qualifying rounds still in play

Kei Nishikori, had a MRI on his back, which is 100% not healed and has also withdrawn, he will be replaced by a L

Nick Kyrgios withdrew he will be replaced by a LL

It looks like the players will get a break from the heat for a second year in a row, as widespread below average temperatures are expected throughout the US Open fortnight:

Mens projected QFs ( via seedings),

Sinner (1) vs Draper (5)
Zverev (3) vs de Minaur (8)
Djokovic (7) vs Fritz (5)
Alcaraz (2) vs Shelton (6)

Djokovic ends up in Alcaraz's half of the draw

There are rumors that the AO for 2026 could have the same format for the Mixed Doubles? I hope Craig Tiley can come to his senses and keep the Mixed Doubles draw for seasoned players, though knowing Tiley 'sensible' is not his middle name.

Seb Korda is playing at the USO, earlier reports had him withdrawing
Korda is playing at the Salem Winston Open where he has made the SFs, his first tournament in 3 months
Korda did sustain a stress fracture in his shin at RG and he did have to withdraw at Wimbledon this year.

I can't believe they missed a gimmick to exploit...if they had gotten Fognini to play with Flavia, they could have pitted two husband/wife teams against each other. I guess Fabio didn't want to? Surely, they thought of it.

My thoughts exactly Fognini to play with Flavia would have been worth watching I know who would be the Boss of that team lol! maybe a reason Fognini didnt want to play with his wife :)
Match I am looking forward to his Fonseca pairing with Del Potro

I don't think he's being "wise," I just don't think he has a choice. He's sick.
Well I think he originally wanted to team w/ Navarro, but she chucked him to play in Monterrey and then politely went down in flames in her first match as the top seed. Siniakova was a late sub and seeing he's not 100% decided to bow out anyway.
