This keeps going in my head for the last couple of weeks...Funny that the original from Tears for Fears is so upbeat.

Very old school rock/metal song here. Quality isn't great but I like this song. Pretty catchy :)

OK, wedding songs... not sure if this is a tradition in the States or other countries, but in the UK a wedding is usually followed by a bit of a disco where everyone embarrasses themselves. It's a tradition that the bride and groom have the first dance... and "their" song is played first.

I got married 13 years ago and after various "confirmations" that the DJ had "our song" it turned out on the night the clown didn't have it.

The song was supposed to be Shania Twain, "From this moment".

It ended up being, Jennifer Rush, "The Power of Love".

Anyway, if you're married and you keep with this tradition, what was "your song"?

Count yourself blessed that the only wimmin's song he had wasn't I Will Survive!

My ex and I used well up to the Bangles, Eternal Flame, don't ask why. Me and the missus don't have a song, and at our wedding the choir she sang with in college in Lithuania chipped in with a Baltic power-ballad, don't ask me the words, can barely order a beer in their lingo...

I did ask for Benga's "Smack your bitch up" but was advised it didn't fit with the atmosphere of the occasion. (Joke BTW, before the women take offence). I would have actually liked a welsh male voice choir singing "mae hen wlad fy nhadau" or "cwm rhondda"... but was asking a little too much.

The one wedding song we hear waaaaaayyyy too much in the States is "The Conga" by (Gloria Estefan) and the Miami Sound Machine. Of, how horrible it is to watch unfold every single time. They start dancing around the room and guys like me are leapfroggin' kids to get to the restroom or the outside bar.

I've seen this at a few weddings across the pond too. I know how you feel!

Listening to Sirius satellite radio and heard an oldie from 1971 by Berger & Shipley--"One Toke Over The Line". Anybody here remember that tune?

^ sorry mate, can't say I have. Did the Floyd reference inspire that recollection?

Is Adele well-known in the States?

Love her voice...

Love the Floyd. This is my favorite PF song...even though the intro could be a bit shorter, it gets you in the mood.

You bet! I LOVE Pink Floyd. I used to think of them as the band that recorded DSOTM through The Wall, but there's a lot more.

Are you familiar with their first album, Piper at the Gates of Dawn, from 1967? It's so psychedelic it makes Sgt. Pepper seem normal. Here's the opening track:
