^ Bowie was a legend... and always retained a great sense of humour.

I don't know if you got this show in Oz at the time... "Extras" a sitcom show by Ricky Gervais about extras in movies and it generally featured a top movie star in each episode and they lived up to a very exaggerated stereotype.

Bowie appeared in one...

Thanks britbox. No we didn't get Extra's. Still hard to believe David's gone. He's been enigmatic figure in music and pop culture.

Love Bowie's impersonation of Lennon... in the earlier vid you posted. Nailed the old school Liverpool accent... and did a damn good cover of a classic song.

Good on you mate. There is also Queen singing 'Imagine' somewhere at a concert in the US, the day after Lennon died. It's just an audience recording but not the best one as it was probably unrehearsed.

Hey @Robert Zimmerman - I've posted this before, but maybe before you signed up.

Where does Queen's Live set at Live Aid 1985 rank up there in the best live performances of all time?

In an event packed with stars, the general UK consensus at the time, was they stole the show... with the whole stadium handclapping in Radio GaGa as the definitive moment.

Thanks britbox. You're right. Freddie really knew how to work a crowd.
I actually liked the 'One Vision' concerts done in 1986 also at Wembley, more than the Live Aid gig. You know the ones ?

Queen new DVD/blu-ray. Just listened to 'Bohemian Rhapsody- Killer Queen (medley)' (scroll to 15:30). Great stereo separation and concert ambience.

"Radio Ga-Ga" from the 11 July 1986 Wembley Concert. Good to read that both 11 and 12 July '86 Concerts has been remastered and released officially together.

Hard to compare because the Live Aid gig was such a short set by Queen. I watched the One Vision concert last night and it was great, although I still think Radio Gaga was better at Live Aid. It was the significance of Live Aid as an event that makes it unique.
