With Francisco Cerundolo defeats 3 time champion Tsitsipas 75 64, Stef lead the 1st set 5-3 and lost the next 4 games,.with this loss Tsitsipas will drop to #65 at best., ( this will be his lowest ranking since 2018) , failing to defend QF points from 2025

Exactly. Baez, on clay, on a good day can face absolutely anyone. But he is not consistent. Current Wawrinka has not much of a shot here honestly, but he can always wake up feeling like it is 2015...
Yep, Baez had a little too much for Stan - 7-5 7-5. Some good tennis on the highlight reel.

Honestly it was closer than I thought it would be. Wawrinka lost to worst players by worst scores lately...

Still hoping for a swan song, but it is not looking good...

Following his 2nd round defeat Grigor Dimitrov ( lost in 3 sets v Etcheverry 64 26 63) his ranking is set to plummet to No 135
Marks the end of his 14 year unbroken run inside the Top 100, which began April 2, 2012
The 42 place drop ( from No 93) comes after failing to defend his 2025 QF points, this expected to be his lowest ranking since October 2010.
Due to his form ( 2-7 in 2926) and this ranking drop, he is currently outside the automatic draw cut for Roland Garros

Heck of a fall. Made the QFs at RG a couple of years ago.

The injury at Wimbledon last year really took the wind out of the sails. He was up 2 sets and giving Sinner a lesson at Wimbledon when that fateful moment happened. (By the way, the Wimbledon run contains the majority of points Dmitrov has left to defend.)

Dmitrov made a mistake playing at Paris last year, and not playing again until the Australian Open. He should have just sat out Paris, and he would have been eligible to use protected ranking.

That said, Dmitrov deserves a Wild Card at the French Open and Wimbledon. I mean, he's been in the Top 100 for nearly 15 years. I know Wimbledon will give him one for sure because of his run last year.

Medvedev double-bagelled by Berrettini

This is not just getting beaten like a red-headed stepchild, it's getting beaten like a red-headed stepchild with a club foot.

Dimitrov dosent Deserve a wild card at the French Open where he was forced to retire in the 1st rd in 2025 against a Q Quinn? that marked his fourth consecutive GS retirement due to injury, having previously retired at the 2024 US Open, 2024 Wimbledon and the 2025 AO,
For starters the player who deserves a wild card into RG this year is Stan Wawrinka, a former champion at RG, and playing his last year on the tour,
Dimitrov in my opinion completely 'over rated' and never reached his 'over hyped potential as Baby Fed"' when under pressure folded like a tent, as we have all seen from him in the past and present regardless of his retirements due to injury in tournaments

That was the first time in his career that he was handed out a double bagel btw, I sat there in complete shock, going from beating Alcaraz not even a month ago at IW, to being double bagled by Berrettini, really did my head in :)

Belgium player Blockx Q, who reminds me of a 'young Milos Raonic in looks' playing really well against my Italian Cobolli and will serve for the match in straights sets, I have watched Blockx in challenger tournaments, he has a all round solid game,
Well done Blockx who defeated the ten seed Cobolli 63 63! and that was his maiden Top 20 win on his birthday nice present!

I wasnt expecting Musetti to win against Vacherot, his first tournament back after his leg injury at the AO this year, still he kept him close, losing 76(6) 75, Musetti will lose his finalist points from 2025 making the final in Monte Carlo, he will drop to No 9 at best in the rankings
BTW Vacherot said recently he would prefer to win Monte Carlo ( his home tournament) over a Grand Slam title
Unless Musetti improves his physicality, apart from his head, he is looking in the Top 15 at best, he has little margin of error in his game, great talent, though at the end of the day talent can only get you so far at the top level, he hasnt won a tournament since 2022 ATP250.

Yeah, shocking performance.
