I am SO happy to see Halep shaking off a few bad months of play. I was really afraid the fall from grace was going to be long and drawn out. Hopefully she can translate this back into some good GS results also.

It is easier to shake something off when there is no pressure versus having pressure. Difference in Halep's May, June and July is she was defending a massive amount of points and this summer she can go into it knowing that she has nothing to defend and a poor showing at last year's Open.

Also, Serena's ground game has been much less consistent than it has in the few years before this year. She has been fortunate that she has been able to turn it on at the right moments this year. It is just odd watching her hit her serve or return or hit a ground stroke so precisely one minute then the next point watch her miss the first serve by a lot or have her hit out by a lot.

True...also easier at a non slam event. She needs to get her slam form back. As soon as she faces a decent seed she seems to shrink.
