Looks to have a good field. I wonder if Serena will be there? I am hoping she will be.

I was listening to ESPN3 last night and they said Serena was already there training and practicing.

I'd imagine if anything we'll see her play the full tournament in Toronto and then only a few matches in Cincy or drop it altogether if she wins Toronto.

Calm yourself! Sharapova always plays the tournaments she is scheduled for if healthy. She must have done something training.

That is a decent draw! Azarenka is on the other side from Serena, so hopefully no complaining about her luck of the draw. Though, she and Petra could meet early. Looks like Sam could get a test of her new found confidence against Serena should she make it that far ;).

RE: Roger's Cup

Stosur has to go through a lot of players to get to Serena, she is silly to think a Serena coming off a long break is the same Serena holding 4 slams and very confident.
Stosur should have said what she said about Serena to pova who has beaten her over and over again or a youngster like Coco who owns her behind...she comes off as sour grapish....first beat Venus or pova
bye felicia!

Azrenka has tough first two matches. She opens against Svitolina who is in form and if Vika wins, then she faces (this is guaranteed, not looks like) Petra (as she has a bye in the opening round). After that, it eases up a little bit before becoming tough again later on.

We will soon see if Sloane takes anything from her first title win. She is in a very doable quarter for her.

Poor Genie, drew Belinda for the opening match. Hope the organizers at least put her on court 3 when her turn comes to save some embarrassment.

And Venus should just retire if she isn't going to come to play. She cannot get out of the first round of the last 2 small events she played. Losing badly to Bondarenko in Turkey and then let the grass court specialist (Lisicki) run through her in embarrassing straights. No energy or fight from a 7-time slam champ.

Sabine raises her level for certain players, but watch later this week. She will lay an egg and lose to a nobody.

Don't be so harsh on V. With the Sojourne syndrome, there is no guarantee that she can perform on any given day (of course, the added effect is that her chances of winning titles is less even in small events). Besides, Sabine brings it to V usually.

But, I agree with you second remark.
