hello all.

hope this topic is going to be a grower.

basically you select an album you liked - past or present - or have recently listened to.

then you rate the tracks for each song.

you can also add your overall thought re. the album and KISS (keep it short and simple).

others here can also rate the same album.

Hello!

I hope so too. I'll get involved later but I'm very busy at the moment & what I'm doing preoccupies me so all I can think of is Kylie by Kylie, Up by Shania Twain & the White album by the Beatles.

Love Western Stars as it covers a cross section of American themes, of highways and desert spaces, of isolation and community and the permanence of home and hope.

Bruce, who is nearing 70 years has put aside famous rock records and has taken a mellower approach on his new solo album but it pays off !!! I sure give him a lot of credit and it seems there's no slowing down for him.. The new songs were done and arranged very well. His voice has held up well.

I like his "I still haven't found what I'm looking for" best.

Jethro Tull - “Thick as a Brick”

1. Thick as a Brick - 10/10

*****

Led Zeppelin - “Led Zeppelin” (aka Led Zeppelin IV, Zoso)

1. Black Dog - 10/10
2. Rock and Roll - 10/10
3. The Battle of Evermore - 10/10
4. Stairway to Heaven - 10/10
5. Misty Mountain Hop - 10/10
6. Four Sticks - 10/10
7. Going to California - 10/10

I have well over 1,000 records, covering almost every genre: classical, jazz, rock, musicals, blues, soul, punk, post-punk, electronic, new wave, new age, experimental, opera, etc.
However, there is only one record which I consider to be absolutely perfect, and it’s this one. Every single song is great. There isn’t one which I skip. There are other albums which are close, but have at least one song I don’t like and will typically skip.

*****

The Beatles - “Abbey Road”

1. Come Together - 9/10
2. Something - 10/10
3. Maxwell’s Silver Hammer - 3/10
4. Oh! Darling - 3/10
5. Octopus’s Garden - 4/10
6. I Want You (She’s so Heavy) - 8/10
7. Here Comes the Sun - 10/10
8. Because - 9/10
9. You Never Give me Your Money - 8/10
10. Sun King - 8/10
11. Mean Mr. Mustard - 8/10
12. Polythene Pam - 8/10
13. She Came in Through the Bathroom Window - 10/10
14. Golden Slumbers - 7/10
15. Carry that Weight - 10/10
16. The End - 10/10
17. Her Majesty - 5/10

I can only "like" the first two thirds of the post... to which I agree 100%. Not a beatles fan so I really don't know the albums well.

I would give quite a few full 10/10 on JT albums... from very different periods of the band. For good ol Zep full 10/10 for the first four albums.

I love this 1.

Time for me to have a go.

I'm choosing Shania Twain's "Up" album.

I give it a 8 as it's not exactly the best album I've ever heard from the best singer I've ever heard. I like every song on it except "I'm gonna getcha good."

I'm sharing a few songs from it below.

Wow! I thought I had an eclectic taste in music. Good for you! I've got lots of records, cassettes & C.D.'s including a few gramophone records. (I've got a gramophone as well as a record player, tape deck & C.D. player. I've also got some music D.V.D's by certain musicians like Ann Williamson, the Alexander Brothers, Andy Stewart & Meatloaf. I also skip a lot on some but not on others. I think the only ones I don't skip are trad. Scots/Irish, Celine Dion, Cher & Diana Ross. I listen to most of the Beatles ones except Sergeant Pepper's lonely hearts club band & I saw her standing there. I listen to most of Cliff Richard's except wired for sound. I listen to most of the Osmond's ones except crazy horses. I don't like Meatloaf's weirder sounding songs but like the others. I like the Moody Blues but won't listen to their weirder sounding songs. I like the old Kylie songs from the '80s & 90's but not the newer ones. I like all Carpenter's songs except "Calling occupants of interplanetary craft".Until I left school I thought Jethro Tull invented the seed drill. Lol.
