Another terrible call. These Miami lines people are atrocious!

Well that was embarrassing for poor Istomin. Needs to practice his serve A LOT! Nadal played very well. Who does he play next?

Memo to linesmen: Nadal has something called "spin"...the balls you think that are out dip at the last moment to catch a bit of the line, I would say, %90 of the time. So be quiet, let someone challenge...

Excellent form from Nadal. Istomin was too passive, though. At some point he had to swing for the fences, step in more. Not that I care that he didn't. ¡Vamos!

I see Isner's playing Almagro later. What injury did Almagro have late last year? Haven't seen him play for ages.

Nicolas had a shoulder injury. See link below

And Fognini, it is. I'm disappointed. I was hoping to see Rafa play Bautista Agut.

Thanks golds girl. One of the worst injuries for a tennis player :( Hopefully he's ok now. Can't stand watching Isner but I'll probably watch a bit of this match 'cos it can't be any worse than Sousa v Berdych which I definitely won't watch and 'cos Nico's backhand is class. Hopefully unaffected from his shoulder injury.

some of the linespeople at this tourney seem to be about 810yrs old..

surely a modicum of visual degeneration has occurred by that age ?.

Personally, I'm keen for the Fognini match-up. I think Bautista-Agut is too green for that match. Fognini could give him a scrap…and if nothing else, some good theatrics. ;)

Way to be, Eph 3!

I have not seen his match but this is a good result for Fabio. Until he broke into the top 20, he usually was a ineffective player on HC. Now he is getting deeper into the larger events on HC as well, which means he is holding his ground overall.
Same happened at the AO, I am hoping he will continue to improve.

Agreed. His problem, in my opinion, is that he completely pholds when he plays the big guns, regardless of the surphace. Granted, he isn't as good as they are. But, still...Don't make a mockery of yourselph!
