Dear Me...I seem to be saying that a lot lately on the women's tour, especially in Miami

No 4 seed Maria Sakkari gets her marching orders from B.Haddah Maia 46 61 62
No 29th seed L.Samsonova defeated by M.Brengle 64 60
No more Greek Goddess

This is soo painful to watch Azarenka serving for the match 6-5 gets broken and it is 6 all t/breaker in place
Azarenka has struggled since the 2nd set.Azarenka 1st set 64, Alexandrova 2nd set 62
It was a ugly win,though a win is a win I guess
Azarenka (12) d Alexandrova 64 26 76 (5)

Have to see Iga's match later - I fell asleep believe it or not. Congrats to her as the first Polish citizen to become world #1- well you know what I mean. Here is her new name which suits her well

Fun Fact, I think Hoergren will like this stat,

Iga Swiatek age 20 years and 308 days, will become the youngest player to make the WTA World No 1 debut since Caroline Wozniacki did so in 2010 aged 20 years and 92 days old.
Yeah I like that sort of stats. BTW here is the latest about Clara Tauson who's still in Miami. Clara Tauson's father Søren: "Clara's unfortunately still bedridden in Florida. The doctors think it's a virus which isn't Covid. She needs to be a lot fresher before we can plan a return flight to Europe." Her next tournament is on clay in Istanbul.

This is so ridiculous! People were faulting Novak for not WD earlier! These "so called" injuries can't have all taken place during the tournament! :astonished-face:
Muchova has just returned to the tour since USO last year with back and ab injuries,.I think we can give her a break, she has a good all court game, not unusual for players being out that long they can pick up injuries as their bodies not use to match playing again

I haven't been watching the women much, but every time I turn it on, another injury! This time it happens in practice! WTF? This is amazing to hear!

I have seen players who practice and you would think they are playing a match, they go out hard,it can happen.

That's why these fools are breaking down! Practice is supposed t/b easy! That's what matches are for to play hard! Totally idiotic and unwatchable!
Well especially if you are going to play a match in say a couple of hours, warm up 'practice' should be easy.
