Kenin should be ashamed of that score. Just got rolled. A slam champ can’t even hold serve once? 40 yr old Venus gave Vika a better fight

Sofia was playing so badly I might have taken a game to deuce with her :astonished-face: ( though I would still probably lose love and love)

Sometimes WTA is more fun than ATP. I mean Kenin losing like this tells me there is no boundaries in WTA, everything is possible.

Also Martic Putinsteva today. Putinsteva leads set and 5:1, but loses 2nd in TB. Later Martic has opportunities in 3rd, but loses again. She was rude at the end from what I hear, refused to touch rackets at the net.

Interesting to see Kuznetzova still in it to win.

Some good looking matches. I'm particularly looking forward to Muguruza v Vika. There will be no fluff left on those balls! Also I agree that Putinseva has been having a great tournament. And who is this Hercog? (Forgive me if I just haven't been paying enough attention.)

Vika is glad this match ended in retirement. Daria was giving her fits. She broke and served for the set twice before going to a breaker. Her fall was awful. She was in crocodile tears. It was heartbreaking. Vika's a sweetheart and a really good sport. She helped the tournament director get Daria to her seat, packed up her tennis bag and used a towel to wipe clay of Daria's arms. :teddy-bear:

Hercog's been around for awhile. Has a really nice game w/ slice, touch, variety and a better than decent serve. She's had some top players on the ropes, but it's difficult for her to close the deal. Just not consistent enough and most of all lacks belief. Like yesterday. She was in control of that match and couldn't close the deal, let Marketa back in the match.

Muguruza prevailed in the end, but that was some fight. Really was the match that was expected. I was going to feel sad for Vika, but she could probably use the rest before RG.

Vika needs a rest, she has gotten some good matches on clay before RG.

Nice semifinal match between Halep-Muguruza, Muguruza cracked at the end with 2 consecutive double faults, she trailed 5:1 in 3rd set and came to 5:4 30:30.

Don't like the attitude of this Vondrousova, her tennis is good, nice variety (she is lefty), but yesterday she was faking tiredness in 2nd set against Svitolina and at the end beat her that set 6:0.

Pliskova dispatched Vondrousova in 2 easy sets. Halep Pliskova final. I will root for Simona, I Just like her more.

It is weird to have finals on Monday without some serious rain delay causing that.
