Just saw a list by Kamakshi Tandon of ESPN of the top grass court players. She's going on career winning percentage of the grass I think. Doesn't matter if some have a decades of results or an itsy bitsy sample size. Bautista-Agut at No. 7? Kyrgios at No. 2? OK...

1. Roger Federer: 87.3 percent
2. Nick Kyrgios: 85.7 percent
3. Andy Murray: 83 percent
4. Novak Djokovic: 80 percent
5. Rafael Nadal: 78.2 percent
6. Lleyton Hewitt: 77.1 percent
7. Roberto Bautista Agut: 76.9 percent
8. Jo-Wilfried Tsonga: 71.7 percent
9T. Tomas Berdych: 69.6 percent
9T. David Ferrer: 69.6 percent
11. Richard Gasquet: 68.1 percent

Roger Federer, Nick Kyrgios top men's grass-court rankings

Kyrgios has played all of seven matches on grass. If he loses his next that 87% drops to 75%. If he loses another, 67%.

Just pointing out how meaningless his inclusion on this list is.

I agree. I loled when I saw it. I kinda look over a couple of names as I check the list. Not sure why she even thought to do it that way. Lazy, shallow reporting maybe? Kyrgios fan maybe? :snicker

The ATP site put out something a bit more accurate. Way to short, but better than that short-sighted espn article.

Here is the career performance record on grass that includes both active and retired players.

If you want the 52 week performance record on grass for active players, I posted it on Wimbledon preview thread.

There are only 5 active players in the overall top 100.

They are in order as follows.

1. Federer
2. Murray
3. Djokovic
4. Nadal
5. Hewitt.

Is there a CHANCE Wimbledon would DARE go with this? :dodgy: Nole's owned the tour 4 of the last 5 years; winning the AO and 4 of the 5 Masters' events played just this year alone! :clap

No, Wimbledon does not go by career rankings on grass. It uses a simple formula:

Ranking points + 100% of grass points won in the last 12 months + 75% of the best result on grass in the 12 months before that.
