stalemate surely. I'm tired of people praising Sergey's defensive skills. Magnus frittered this away

I'm sorry but Magnus doesn't deserve to win this thing the way he's playing.

That was a punch in the balls there. Magnus has to remember it is still tied but to let that opportunity go and have to play 10 minutes later is tough.

Carlsen has come back pretty strong and has a clear edge with black. Karjakin has not had any kind of an edge in any of the games so far, seems Magnus has been more prepared.

I feel like Magnus could've applied a LOT more pressure by recapturing gxf6 instead of Bxf6

Wow Karjakin just threw the game away with an insane blunder. Now all Magnus has to do is draw with white and he retains the title. Really poor play today.

Now at last we'll get to see Sergey actually try to take the initiative. I must say he's been very negative, but it almost worked for him. He'll have a lot of regrets

He cracked starting in game 10 of this match. The only interest today was seeing if Magnus would be really negative after the game 2 draw. Karjakin's play has been quite weak.

Carlsen with a clear edge here and only needs to get a draw. Tough to see how Karjakin can cause any trouble in this game.

Getting close to Sergey being forced to bullet out the moves here. It would take a monumental blunder to turn things around now

Stylish finish. Figured as soon as he tied the match up it was a formality. Karjakin needed to be way better prepared today to have a chance. He got steamrolled and never even looked for an initiative.

That is a very interesting idea, and a pretty good one. I think we discussed earlier this year that the 12 game format is kind of short. I think 18 games is more ideal but if you're sticking with the shorter match then Sierawan's idea is pretty legit.

I didn't realize this but Caruana is only 4 points lower than Carlsen right now. I don't think anyone has seriously threatened to take over the #1 spot for quite a while so that will be interesting.

I see a 17 point difference on 2700chess. I do agree that's as close as it's been for years

Weird, I just checked again (we are using the same site) and now it is 17 points. I think Carlsen lost a little over 13 points for the match, it appears the site must have doubled it earlier. 17 is a decent cushion.
