Sabalenka No 1 returns for the first time since the AO ( Sabalenka chose to bypass the Middle East swing in February)
Sabalenka v Japan's Himeno Sakatsume, I doubt she will have much trouble
Young Canadian Victoria Mboko enters the tournament as a Top Ten seed against Kimberley Birrell.
Coco Gauff (4) vs Rakhimova, needs to have a good run at IW after a poor display of form in the Middle East.
Anisimova (6) vs Blinkova
Paolini (7) another player whose form so far in 2026 has been sub par vs Potapova

Clara did better in the 2nd set, also it was windy, players have to adjust their game as well. Yuila can be a tricky player at the best of times
