I have zero, zip, nada interest in a Fedal final.
So that means that Nadal has to go out in the semis. :D
same for me, I disliked all those awful RG's final (2006? 2007? 2008) it was poor tennis and I'ld prefer anything but a rewatch of those bad moments

2011 was more recent... Nadal's worst final and a winnable match for Federer IMO.. Anyway, moving on 6-10 years... on a different surface... we'll see.

But this is HC. Not game for one last battle against two of the greatest ever in tennis? #lackofimagination

Meh, you know what I mean. In 2015, he had return from missing a significant chunk of the 2014 and was garbage all year as a result. And last year, well, it's more or less the same.

He was mostly healthy both years is the point. Also, he missed the last 6 months of 2012 with what was supposedly a much worse injury than 2014 and he came back strong immediately in 2013. He sucked in 2015 and 2016 because he seemed to have lost some more of his physicality (speed and strength) due to age and wear and tear and we all know that's his bread and butter. He's turned back the clock somewhat this event.

He suffered a loss of confidence after the injuries in 2014, but that's probably too much psychobabble for you. He seems to have regained a lot of it now, which matters to the rest of us.

I'd like to know what sort of television ratings the mens and womens singles finals acheived not just Australia but the U.S. this year and last year. The ratings would have gone thru the roof for the women's final on ESPN I reckon.

Early reports are that the women's SFs had the highest ratings in years, due to the Williams sisters, so I'm guessing the Final did well. Nothing on the men's but...you guess.

TV Ratings: Skydiving celebrities no match for the mighty tennis

Not even throwing B-list celebrities out of a plane could help Ten's I'm A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here beat the might of the tennis on Seven.

The epic men's final between Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal attracted an average five city metro audience of 2.6 million viewers with a handful more tuning in for the end.
That marks the biggest television audience for the tennis since 2005 and one million extra viewers than tuned in to watch Novak Djokovic beat Andy Murray in 2016.

The tennis ratings were more than double the audience Ten managed to secure for the first episode of I'm A Celebrity ... which saw notable folk as diverse as Steve Price, Lisa Curry Kenny, Casey Donovan and Tom Arnold entering the South African jungle.

Australian Open men's finals (Presentation) - Seven - 2,772,000

Australian Open men's finals - Seven - 2,627,000

The Net - Seven - 1,455,000

Australian Open men's finals (Preview)- 1,235,000

Seven News - Seven - 1,195,000

Nine News - Nine - 1,110,000

I'm A Celebrity... (Opening Night) - Ten - 1,103,000

I'm A Celebrity... (Welcome to the Jungle) - Ten - 963,000

60 Minutes - Nine - 588,000

ABC News - ABC - 562,000

Pretty impressive stuff. The old boys and girls pulling in the punters.
Yes especially considering the timeslot. Which tv network was showing the finals over in England and what was the ratings?
