I think Halep will win the final. She seems very determined (despite the ankle issue and the long match against Davis). Anyway, I will be rooting for Simona. Both playing their third final. Both are two times losers (Simona twice at RG and Caro twice at USO). So, both will be thinking AO will change their luck. Both have been at #1. So, it is kind of symmetrical and it will be interesting.

Unlike a typical WTA final where there is one good player and the other one chokes badly (either because she is a newbie or for some other reason), this final may actually be interesting.

I voted Halep in 2, but I hope it's as entertaining as the Kerber match! The 3 AM central matches are the toughest to stay awake for. Actually surprised to see Wozniacki leading the H2H.

Woz can get free points on her serve. Halep can’t.
If Halep does win, that will bode well for her at FO.

For those of you in US and don't feel like staying up to watch this final, here is a PSA. ESPN2 is showing
an encore presentation of the match beginning at 9 a.m. on Saturday (going up to noon if needed). In fact,
that is what I am going to watch.

But, I don't like to watch a match when I already know the results. So, I will be cutting off myself from
the outside world and go into a bubble and watching the encore presentation without knowing the results.

For Men's final also, there is an encore presentation from 10 a.m. on Sunday (going up to 2 p.m. if needed).
But, I will be waking up at 3 a.m. to watch that match live, because I won't have the patience not to know the
result before watching the encore presentation.

This is high drama. Winner becomes number 1 and gets her first major title. Hate to see either lose.
I'm with you. I like both, and I feel for them, in their quest. I like Halep's coach, Cahill, too. But I'm going to pull for Wozniacki, especially for our friend @Hoergren, because I think he cares the most. It could be a dramatic final. I hope so.

Thanks for the sympathy. I like both players and when I made my TOP 12 in Tennisavisen.dk my two best players were Halep and Wozniacki because they both are the workhorses on the WTA tour - playing tennis finest - instead of "just" being a ball basher. They both are friendly and good representatives/rolemodels for the tennisworld. So let's see who wins - I will of course be behind Caroline.

Will be a tight one ! I was really impressed by Halep in the SF, how she managed to stay positive after missing 2 match points and how she kept trying to be aggressive and win points instead of waiting for a unforced error. However, I think Wozniacki's game will gave her many issues. I will pick Wozniacki in 3.

I've gone with Caro in 2... but this match feels like pinning the tail on the donkey blindfolded... it could go anywhere. @10isfan might be right - a few free points might be the difference maker... but I'm thinking nerves might be as much of a factor as anything.

Not long to wait... #1 ranking and a maiden slam awaits the winner. Pressure cooker time.

The road to the final - little surprising to see who has been meeting the highest ranking players - which just shows how much you can use that for:
