Really TC? The women's match started almost an hour before and they don't show it on T2. Instead they show reruns of that comedian who impersonates the players. They are playing the men's trophy ceremony in it's entirety on TC and not even mentioning that Coco already won the first set.

Impressive that 3 off that list won 2 M1000 titles this year. And even w/ that stat, Mirra is in danger of being overtaken for her spot at the YEC.

Now that Mirra can play the tour full time, she is still adjusting, and her level of play isnt what it was earlier in the year, she has become frustrated and losing her focus and losing matches which she should have won, yes she is in danger of being over taken for her spot at the YEC

BTW,
Coco Gauff's coach didnt want her to do the Asian swing because she had a tough USO ( presumably to work on the mechanical changes). But she says " I'm a very stubborn person". Good choice Coco!

WTA500 Ningbo Open, China,
Daria Kasatkina defending champion wont be defending her title in 2025, as she has decided to shut down her 2025 season
Anisimova withdrew calf injury
Pegula withdrew when she made the SF at Wuhan, and it was confirmed she made the WTA Finals.
Jasmine Paolini and Elena Rybakina are also in the tournament, both battling for the last 2 spots at the WTA Finals, Rybakina will have to win the tournament in my calculations, as she is presently behind Paolini on points.

Matches Tuesday 14th October,

V. Kudermetova vs S.Zhang
M. Vondrousova vs K. Muchova
E.Raducanu vs L.Zhu
Y.Yuan vs X.Wang
C.Tauson (5) vs A.Tomljanovic
L.Samsonova vs H.Guo
V.Mboko vs D.Yastremska

Tauson in a lack of consistency right now. Starts well and loses steam and players like Tomljanovic uses their experience and have the weapon in these cases. But Clara has now reached 350 aces - quite impressive - and on a third place in that race

I watched the 1st set, where Clara was in complete control of the match 61 and thought Clara would win in straight sets, agree Clara needs to find consistency, a match she will look back on and realized she should have won

Lin Zhu the 31 yo wildcard from China has beaten the topseed Andreeva in another 3 setter in Ningbo Open - great job well done. And welcome back from injury - now #170 in the rankings.

It was a good match from Lin to defeat Andreeva, who to me is still trying to adjust playing the tour full time., she hasnt played well since Wimbledon, at times looks miserable on court to me, she isnt at the level when she won back to back WTA1000 earlier in the year.

18 yo Andreeva can still qualify for the WTA Finals this week, but needs to wait for Paolini and Rybakina results.
Other results in Ningbo on Wednesday 15th October,

Tomljanovic d Sonmez 76(3) 63
Bencic had a hard fought match over Stradubtseva 57 64 75
