Serena isn't going to be at the US Open. If Serena were to return, we would know about it months in advance because she would need to re-enroll in the drug testing program for 6 months before she can return to competition.

As Venus and Serena's coach in their teenage days Rick Macci spoke to Richard Pelligrano from tennisnow and said it was probable that Venus and Serena would take a WC into the doubles at USO
Rchard Pelligrano is a credited Amercian journalist who I have done work for in the past on his website www.tennisnow.com where I first read the 'probable news" and posted it on this website.

Danielle Collins has announced on her instragram page that the USO will be her last tournament of 2025
Collins played with an Herniated Disc in her match at Cincy and was in considerable pain, I feel it is a wise decision

This is the Best News Ever and one that I have been wanting for the last 2 years!

Coco Gauff has shaken up her coaching team ahead of the USO. Gauff has parted ways with coach Matt Daly and brought in a biomechanics expert Gavin MacMillian, previously worked with Aryna Sabalenka for her troubled serve.MacMillion was shown on court with Gauff as she practices Wednesday in Arthur Ashe Stadium, as was JC Faurel, who has been working with Gauff.
ESPN Darren Cahill said "he's very thorough, I've spoken to him many times before and the fact he's got experience with different athletes from different sports both male and female, he uses the new technology, he goes to the video a lot, really breaks down the biomechanics".

I am not surprised with this news, only a matter of time,

Elena Rybakina has split with Davide Sanguinetti, leaving Stefan Vukov as her only coach

The Duchess of Kent has passed away:

For many years, a fixture at Wimbledon and possibly best remembered for consoling Jana Novotna after her 93 loss to Steffi Graf.

Thanks Baron,
Sad day indeed, I think we all remembered that match, how kind the Duchess of Kent was consoling Jana Novotna

R.I.P Duchess of Kent.

One memory i will take is 1993 final where she consoles a distressed Jana Novotna.
I'm not the only one, i'm sure.

Emma Raducanu decided not to play BJK Cup and accepted a wild card to Seoul instead. She had originally accepted to play the Cup.
Raducanu decided playing on the tour and working with Roig her 8th coach was more important for her long term development.

Lets see how long Roig lasts, apparently he is on a small contract to the end of 2025

Jon Wetheim mail bag, Monday 9th September, regarding Mixed Doubles Event at the USO,

" A dirty secret: The players were paid appearance fees in addition to prize money - per a formula ties to ranking - and pretending otherwise is dishonest"

( I always thought the players would receive appearance fees and Wertheim's post confirms that )

Sloane Stephens who was given a wild card to compete in Mexico, she has not competed since February this year, being out with a foot injury, she is on court now playing against Stefanini from Italy
This match had to be suspended due to bad weather - Stefanini won the 1st set 64 and Stephens was winning the 2nd set 5-3 when he match was suspended
The match resumed with wining 64 36 61, Sloane faded in the 3rd set, not surprising she hasnt played a match since February in 2025
