Novak's making his 3rd major SF! Most players never see that their entire careers, but while the old man's being talked down, he's still in the Semis!
Like you did with Federer. As a Sampras fan, it’s OK with you when Djokovic continues to play as long as he can reach the semifinals. I thought it was time for the youngsters.

Of course Sinner is the favorite, but I don’t think Djokovic is so old and decrepit he can’t muster an inspired performance one more time on Wimbledon grass. He can’t do it consistently as before, the new reality is that winning tournaments is an uphill battle, but it’s not a coincidence he’s made the last three Slam semifinals.

Djokovic in 4 close sets.

I suppose you could try that argument! You're still off! It is time for the kids, the next gen., but what's to be done if they can't overcome the past? Federer wasn't doing that much the last couple yrs. besides taking up space in the draw! He wasn't making Masters & Major SF's or finals! Roger was struggling to get out of the 1st & 2nd Rd. of Wimbledon! Novak is hardly that dead out there on the court! He's schooling these kids even at his age! There's no comparison if you look at it seriously! :face-with-hand-over-mouth::fearful-face::yawningface::face-with-tears-of-joy:

That is such a lie. Next time, do your research before you post. The only times Federer lost in the 1st or 2nd round of Wimbledon post-Sampras win was 2002 and 2013. Roger made the final in 2019, when he was Novak's age (and Federer was thisclose to beating 32-year-old Novak). And a half year later, Roger made the semifinals of the AO (he even won his quarterfinal match despite suffering an injury). Two years later, when Federer was hurt, he made the quarterfinals at Wimbledon, in his last tournament ever. So, Federer never struggled to get out of the 1st or 2nd round, even at the end of his career.

Novak has aged better than Roger or Rafa, but not that much better. He isn't markedly better relative to the field than Roger was in 2019 at age 37-38, his last full/healthy season - and the closest age comp to Novak in 2025. Roger made a Slam F, SF, QF, and 4R. So far Novak has made three SFs. He's not done, obviously, but barring a sweep of WIM & USO, the overall results are close.

Roger also won a Masters and reached the final of another in 2019. Novak has reached a final, but otherwise gone out early. Again, we've still got almost half a season, but we're still talking roughly similar levels relative to the field.

The point being, as a player Novak in 2025 is similar to Roger in 2019. The final results might end up being a bit different, but some of that is circumstantial.

So Sad! People losing their $#!t over a post about their BABY, Roger Fed.! No one said he was eliminated at Wimbledon early, but he damned well struggled to get out of them! Relax! Novak will end his career soon so you can tout Roger for the rest of your lives! Look foolish as Djokovic's nimbers continue to out-distance both Fedal! :angry-face::astonished-face::face-with-hand-over-mouth::fearful-face:

22 year old Alcaraz struggled to make it past well over the hill Fognini (who just retired after this match) in the first round and he's probably gonna win the title so is there a point to this nonsense ?

BBC says Novak skipped his practice today. He took a fall at the end of the Cobolli match, which seems to stretch his groin, or something. Sinner seemed to have a normal practice today, after the elbow concerns.

Just reporting the news. We did about 2 pages on Sinner's elbow, and how much he practiced the next day. I know for sure the spirit is willing, but, even as fit as he is, Novak will have problems if his movement is hampered. But, yeah, we've definitely seen him act a bit hurt, and then, miraculously, nothing bothers him.
