The advantage that Dimitrov may have over Sinner is that he's been here before. If Dimitrov can hang with Sinner early, who knows if Sinner will start feeling the pressure of the 2nd week of Wimbledon.

The way to beat Sinner is to take him to 5 sets. Sinner has a poor track record in matches that go the distance. I believe the only 5-setter he has won is the 2024 Australian Open. I know it's a small sample size, but if there's a weakness in Sinner's game, it's winning a match that goes 5 sets.

We all know grass is Sinner's worst surface?

Hasn't Sinner been this far at Wimbledon before? 2 years ago?

I told you all it wasn't going to be a walk in the park. Sinner finds himself in a very unfamiliar position, losing the first set 6-3.

From what little I saw of de Minaur, he was playing "out of his mind;" keeping up w/ Novak winning points that went over 30+ strokes! It was very entertaining w/ the dropshots, lobs, and a ton of BH slicing & dicing! It took me back for a few minutes! It very well could have gone 5 sets, but Alex didn't capitalize on brk pt. to go up 5-1 in the 4th! Twas all downhill after that even though he made Novak work for it in 4 sets & over 3+ hrs.! :astonished-face:
Not out of his mind. Just his game. He was running Novak around, yes, and Novak was pretty unimpressive for a good bit of that match.

For Gods sakes Phil, Sinner made a couple of UFE and that was it in the 1st set
Are you actually watching the match?
BTW Grigor is the first player to take a set off Sinner all tournament so far

Is the sore elbow about the fall, or an actual injury.

Oh, and Sinner breaks back, just in time!

It appears to be okay he served a love game
Jannik had his chances to go to a TB for the 2nd set and Grigor broke back and now leads 2 sets to love
Jannik now has to play 5 set match if he wants to still be alive in the tournament
Grigor has been p[laying out of his mind

So now it becomes an indoor match. Can Red win 3 sets in 2.5 hours?

Dimitrov up 2 sets to love. I was trying to tell you all that Jannik was going to be upset at some point, and well before the final. Wimbledon is just a different type of pressure. Now, I still think Jannik will win a Wimbledon title down the line (and when he does, he will be in the Top 10 of the GOAT list), but I knew it wasn't going to be this year.

It's a 2 set lead. He's not out of it yet. Look what happened at RG. Good thing Carlitos doesn't think like you do, he'd have a piss poor record in 5 set matches.

Hmmm, is it divine intervention helping Novak to his 25th? Old vets are knocking off the young opposition! First Draper, now Sinner? WOW! :face-with-tears-of-joy:
This is the 2nd time you've asked if some divinity is intervening on Novak's behalf. Forget it. If there is a God, or some divine being, they certainly don't care about the outcome of a tennis tournament. :face-with-tears-of-joy:
