Fils won, 6-2 in the 3rd. They had a discussion at the net, after the handshake. It seemed like Tsitsipas was apologizing for going straight at Fils on one point in the 3rd. Fils seemed to be clear with that, but then Tsitsipas got worked up. No one seems to understand what he was complaining to Fils about. Again, just pouty. BTW, now Fils has a 4-0 H2H over the Greek. That's probably what he's really mad about.
Is Goran working with the sissy yet?

I was never looking when they cut to the box, so I don't know. But Tsitsipas really fell apart quickly today when things stopped going his way, after having played really well for about 1.5 sets. He seems only to be happy when he's facing no real adversity at all. There's no fight in the guy.

I just saw him make a scene after the match explaining about the body shot. Idiot. If he went for any part of the body it’s a good shot. He’s a wimp. Him vs Goran is the freak show crossover we don’t deserve, but we’ll enjoy it anyway…

I don't know if Goran will take him. There was an announcment a few weeks ago and now silence. Why would Goran start with him after the clay season? It doesn't make sense. I think it has something to do with greek's parents and Goran doesn't want to be a part of that drama. He probably had enough BS with Rybakina and her crazy coach.

Don Fabio,
I am still trying to find out more up to date info if Goran will coach Stef, silence from both Goran and Stef
I find it rather strange Goran was to start coaching him for the grass season?
I still think Stef's parents wont let their boy go and still want to play a big part in his career.
BTW I wasnt surprised that Fils won against him today, Fils appears to have his number

Rune was a 'hot mess' today in his match against Moutet 62 UFE and his fhand was way off, apart from his serve
Rune has entered to play Hamburg, hopefully he can 'iron out' these problems before RG

We all know Medvedev's clay season starts in Rome, okay we do have a 'few disbelievers' amongst us,
Actually the 2023 champion has looked good so far and has reached the round of 16, with his defeat of Pop 64 61
Medvedev will play Musetti next.

Absurd squash forehand from Alcaraz!
Alcaraz 76(2) 62 over Djere and is through to the round of 16 in Rome for the first time!

Mensik v Marozsan could be very interesting. Ruud is playing well, and Berrettini so-so, but he'll have the crowd.

Mensik so far has handled Rome conditions well, this will be a good test for him against Marozan whose favorite surface is clay
I would have to favor Ruud over Berrettini, also the 2 Berrettini brothers who received a wild card into the doubles lost their match today against Musetti/Sonego

That's the smart money, but one can live in hope. :)

Every time it seems Rune is turning a corner, he goes into hot mess mode. At this point, he's slipped behind Mensik and Fonseca for me, in terms of career going forward. I see him closer to Fils.

My current list in terms of who I expect to have the best careers from this point on (not including guys not yet in the top 100):

  1. Sinner
  2. Alcaraz
  3. Fonseca
  4. Mensik
  5. Draper
  6. Fils
  7. Rune

I'd group Sinner/Alcaraz together - it could go either way, but I think they'll be close. While Sinner's a couple years older, he's also been the better player thus far and given Alcaraz's erratic performance, I'm giving Sinner the edge. Fonseca is a wildcard. He could join Sincaraz, or fall back below the next four if he doesn't develop as hoped. I still believe, though, but suspect it won't be until 2026-27 that he breaks through and wins a big title. The next four could all move around. Right now I like Mensik's upside the best, but Draper has become a really good player and Fils is still improving. If things ever click for Rune, he could be first of that group, but I've pretty much given up on him becoming the third member of a new Big Three. That ship has sailed, imo (sorry, @Jelenafan ).

After the above seven it is tricky. Tien is possible, as are other really young guys. De Minaur, Shelton, Musetti, maybe whoever ages best of the Next Genners is in the mix. I don't think Korda is going to take a big step forward and pretty much is settling in as a 10-20 guy. As for Shelton, we might now know how good he'll be for another year or two. He could basically be what he is now--a cuspy top 10 guy--or he could be fighting for a place in the top 5.

Lets see if the 'home crowd' can lift Berrettini to a win over Ruud his match is up next.

A scrappy match from Sinner, he got the job done over de Jong who had a bad fall, and fell twice and hurt his wrist, Jannik went straight over to a practice court, after his match,he faces the Dangerous One in his next match, he needs to play better than he did today.

Cerundolo doing his thing and taking out last years finalist Jarry 76(4) 63 ( no he isnt my dark horse in Roma)
Rublev is in a slump, as Marozsan continues his winning ways 75 46 63
Hmm we needed Fritz to hang around to take out Zverev, I will need to find another player :)
Reason for FAA withdrawal lower back injury
I reckon Fils could be your new huckleberry
