Alcaraz preseason is planned at the Ferreo Academy, he's still working with his team from the Ferrero academy, including Samuel Lopez

This is a shock about Carlos. The timing too. It’ll be interesting to see who gets the job but it isn’t a good omen for the start of the season. And @MargaretMcAleer is it’s to do with disagreements over the post-season exos, I have to agree with JCF, but to break up seems extreme…

I agree it does seem extreme to break up over playing those 2 exhos, remember JCF and Lopez were just named as Coaches of the Year? though Carlos was warned he could risk serious injury if he played? I think there is more to it, there are also rumors today there were disagreements in JCF contract for 2026 season? we will never know the real reason I feel, many people feel JCF was today blind sided by Carlos announcing his decision to part.
Presently he will be coached by Samuel Lopez who joined the coaching team in December 2024

A source clay@claymagazine,
There were significant disagreements between Ferrero and Alcaraz's father about how to manage the players career
Javier de Diego, tennis specialist at Radio Nacional de Espana (RNE) added a key piece of information,
"The relationship broke down 2 days ago when no agreement was reached in the negotiations for the new contract".

News from @ agarciamuniz,
They're looking for a new head coach for Alcaraz. Names are already being discussed and some negotiations went underway.
Samuel Lopez will Not be the head coach, he stays in his current role and will act as interim head coach for now.
Whole team remains with Alcaraz.

First things first: I disagree with anyone here about exhos, and I doubt JCF left/was ousted because of that. It is a ton of money, and it is light practice with a quality opponent in which you control the intensity. Win/win/win, and these guys are pros, money is the name of the game. It is so obvious I refuse to discuss it further.

Having said, I like Ferrero a lot and now I can go on on full hate against Carlos: I wish that he keeps painting his hair with colors that he will regret in ten years. See? I am super mean.

It isn't over the exho's alone. More than likely the exho's are a sign that Chuck isn't following the advice and suggestions of his main coach. If he isn't listening about when to train and rest, what else is he being a blockhead about. We know from the past 2-3 years, he's made some questionable scheduling choices. The Olympics, Laver Cup, Hopman Cup, that goofy King's Slam, other exho's, and not playing a warmup in Oz, etc. And if he thinks this won't have an adverse affect on him, he needs to watch some film. He constantly relies on his box and talking to them (JCF in particular) about where to serve, what to do when he's losing, etc.

Their relationship looks to me like a high school crush and a first love relation that rarely survives the challenges down the road. It appears they could not handle some stuff that looks easy to agree on and then just decided they've had enough.

Update - Holger Rune via his IG.
Rune leaves Qatar after the end of phase 2 of his rehabilitation, he has removed the boot.
"It is now 2 months since my achilles surgery and I am leaving Qatar today, after almost one month if rehab at Aspeter hospital. I am deeply grateful for the guidance, and the progress I have made the past month, Without the knowledge from the dedicated team here, I dont think this strong progression would have been possible".

As Samuel Lopez will be Carlos Alcaraz coach heading to the AO, just a reminder he is a experienced coach who often dosent get the limelight or credit. Alcaraz won 5 of his 8 titles this year with just Samuel ( no JCF in his box) and he's largely been responsible for the technical improvements Carlos made on his serve in 2025.

Stan Wawrinka announces that 2026 will be his final year on tour.
"This is what this journey has been about. I still want to push my limits and finish this journey on the best note possible. I still have dreams in this sport. I've enjoyed every part of what tennis has given me, especially the emotions I feel playing in front of you, I'm looking foward to seeing you one more time, all around the world. One last push"
