Novak is suprisingly switched on from the first match in Geneva and looks like her cares and wants to win. Final against Hurkacz on clay, what more can he ask for a 100th title shot again?

I don't think he will stop until he at least passes Federer who has 103 titles. Even if it means vulturing in Switzerland on a 250 tournament a week before a grand slam.

Well granted he gets 100 tomorrow, he'll need to replicate this same effort for 3 more years. And if he stays in top 10, he's limited w/ how many 250's he can play

The thing is, he barely plays serious anywhere except the slams these days and time is ticking, until he won't be able to win a title even at the lowest level tournaments.

I just can't believe Novak's thinking much about breaking Connors' record of 109 titles! After OG, his lack of motivation is evident as he's just floated around, not really trying that hard until a major comes along! There are a few attainable records that seems to me he just doesn't care! He needs 1 more FO to have 4 Career GS's, 1 Monte Carlo Masters to get to 3rd Golden Masters, & the aforementioned 109 titles was more attainable last yr,! Time's run out & I can't imagine him wasting his time at a bunch of 250 events to even get past Roger's 103! He only played Geneva to get some extra practice in! It's obviously paid off as he's picked up his serving % & got some real roadwork in just these 3 match wins! He obviously couldn't care less last season as he went w/o a title outside of Gold Medal!

Hubi defeated Rafa in Rome 61 63, clay which ended Nadal at Rome

Hubi d Federer QF 2021 63 76(7) 60 Grass QF, whiich ended Federer
Hubi could be a spoiler? he is playing well on the clay and is serving lights out
Also he will face the highest seed in Hubi in the final No 31, the highest seed he has faced all tournament, I am not convinced with Novaks physicality in this tournament in the best of 3, he may win,not so sure in a major especially on clay in a best of 5

He will have those numbers in mind, 103 and 109, but I don't believe he'll stick around for that, if he's not getting the results at the Majors. Once he gets #100, which very well may be tomorrow, he's in a small group already.

I absolutely don't believe he doesn't care. But finding motivation when you've achieved practically everything, (certainly everything that matters,) and at 38, is understandably difficult. But, with RG around the corner, and Wimbledon looming, he got some rest, recharged, and found his game again. I agree he won't be reaching for 109. He may still feel that passing Fed is doable. But it's not going to get him out of bed in the morning, IMO.

The problem isn't just motivation...it's his age. While his chances to do well at RG have improved this week in everyone's estimation, I'm sure, he's still far from the favorite. It will be interesting to see how he fares over the next 5-6 weeks, at RG and Wimbledon.

To me, his chances have improved because he's playing better than he has in months, and he's still Djokovic. Except the 38-year-old version, who has limitations, including physical. To be clear, I don't think he has a prayer of winning it, because he'll almost certainly have to face Sinner and Alcaraz, in that order. But he looks better than he did to make the 2nd week.

Re: his illness, he said, "I think there are only two players in the whole world who would have taken the court today. I'm one of them, and I'm really proud of that."

Re: his opponent: "I think I played a solid and good match. But he realised at some point that I wasn't feeling well and then went on playing the points for as long as possible. That was clever on his part." That seems like a backhanded compliment, to me.

I read that yesterday, I nearly puked., he has got worse with his delusional thoughts, thinking there are only 2 players in the whole wide world who would have taken the court? I being one of them LOL! he needs another reality check and I hope it comes at Roland Garros Early!

Who knows with him who he thinks the other player is? quite frankly I dont think he ever notice other players that have taken the court with issues
