I love DC I forget about ranking and so do the players
It's all about playing for your country and giving your best
Being Italian I hope that Italy can win
Still I love Spain in DC over the years and I won't be upset if they win
Both teams have played without their strong players and both teams have raised their games to win
If Italy happens to win I might forgive Cobilli ripping off his shirt lol

I couldn't decide about giving your post a "like" or a "laugh", but I went for the "laugh" for the shirt-ripping by Cobolli.

Like you, I'd be happy for either. Two very solid teams. I will say this: I think Italy will be keen to win in 2. Spain have a very good doubles team.

Cobolli v Munar just started, this match will or could decide the tie for Italy in straight sets
Though Munar is quite capable on hard courts and has defeated Cobolli recently in Shanghai and is already up a break in the 1st set leading 3-0, that lob from Munar has to be one of the Shots of the Tournament so far !
Now up a double break in the 1st set Munar 4-0
Wake up Cobilli!

Munar will serve for the 1st set 5-1, and is playing well got off to a good quick start, pity I cant say the same for his opponent.Meh!

I am concerned if Munar wins this and it goes to the doubles. The Spanish doubles team is strong. Also, as Jason Goodall pointed out earlier, the Italian pair haven't had to play all week, as Italy has made it this far on the strength of the singles.

I cant see Cobolli winning this singles rubber, Italian team has a strong doubles, point taken they havent had to play all week, though the Italian doubles team play together on the doubles circuit,that is one thing in their favor.
Munar is playing flawless tennis and too good for Cobolli at present
Munar broke Cobolli in his first service game Meh!

Some of the top players have suggested that the DC be played every 2 years? Alcaraz and Sinner both agreed playing every 2 years would be more ideal than every year?
I disagree, I understand DC is played at the end of the year, a lot of the players are tired etc, still as we have seen in this tie in 2025, with a number of top players absent for different reasons, players have stepped up, and have raised their level of play, thats one thing you can always rely on in DC,

I agree with you. It's always been a great opportunity for lesser players to step up. Even with the absence of the top 2, this has been a great and entertaining DC.

The whole Italian team great job, including Matteo he was 'on' in his singles matches all tie! Italy didnt lose a match all week.

Apparently Ferrer said he wasnt available earlier in the ties, so he wasnt asked to play in the finals
