I think it’s hard to get tickets for Wimbledon too. It certainly is for the final. The 2001 final was famous for that, when it played on the Monday and the great unwashed could enter. The atmosphere was legendary!

But I don’t know what it’s like now…
That 2001 Wimbledon final was the best ever in my lifetime. Actually, starting with the semis, that was the best 4 days of men's tennis ever. You could argue that the 2008 or 2019 Wimbledon final was better, but neither compares to the atmosphere of the 2001 Wimbledon final. Not to mention, the semis in 2008 and 2019 sucked.

Come on. The final in 2008 was a history match at the highest, and played at the highest level of play. But I get what you mean about the entertainment value in 2001. One of the few tennis matches I watched where I wanted both men to win…

Mens USO Wild Cards,

Nishesh Basavareddy
Tristan Boyer
Emilio Nava
Stefan Dostanic
Darwin Blanch
Valentin Royer (FRA)
Tristan Schoolgate (AUS)

Seeing Brandon Holt is now in the main draw of the USO, due to Berrettini's withdrawal, freeing up another wild card, they have awarded Eilot Spizzirri with the wild card

Novak Djokovic decided to train at Portonovi, Montengro ahead of the USO, the clip of Djokovic indicated a new problem, his knee, from a video clip, it is impossible to make any definitive judgements about the severity of Novaks issue, though any discomfort in practice, at his age, is worrying.

Some reports on the internet say it's the thigh, which he injured v. Cobolli at the end of his match in Wimbledon.
Well I was only going on what the person said it was his knee after watching the video

I just mentioned, I mean...who knows? Maybe just a niggle. He did seem to be moving a bit gingerly and stiffly on the right leg. Plus, supposedly, he hasn't yet come to NY, and he's supposed to play mixed doubles in a few days.

Who knows exactly ? BTW I am not a fan of this so called Mixed Doubles to begin with as the more season mixed doubles players cannot play in it

Why can't they?
Because it is a new Mixed Doubles Event from the USTA they are wanting the singles players from both the ATP and the WTA to pair up and make it more exciting, it also goes on their ranking no how they get in, also there are wild cards for other players that do not have a high ranking
The current Mixed Doubles champions from last year the 2 Italians made the draw

I suspected you might say that, with so many singles players pairing up. Seems very unfair. Plus, they're putting it first, so the singles players play the mixed before their singles. Probably not a great risk of injury, but still. They've put it in Fan Week, so it's free. Making it essentially an exhibition.
