I'd like to vote for Kaia here because she's a sentimental favorite. Seeing as Saba's serve visa was cancelled last night, she's not going to get the same gifts from Iga. I believe the RG champ will be a bit too consistent. Iga in 3

Kanepi now on her 7th SP in the first. This has been a long one. Just over an hour.

EDIT: Now has seen 8 SPs come and go.

EDIT #2: She finally converted her 9th SP.

She finally cashes in on a big first serve (which was largely missing in that game) and takes it 6-4

Kaia has Iga on her heels w/ pace and depth. Breaks to start the 2nd set 1-0.

We'll see if Iga can dig out of this, but as Robbie Koenig always says "success is an uphill battle"

Iga's fhand seems to be doing the damage she gets a early break in the 3rd set and consolidates leads 2-0
Iga's bhand finds the net, back on serve in the 3rd set ....3all
Kanepi's fhand has let her down again,Iga breaks again
Iga using her fhand consolidates the break, leads 4-2.Kanepi making too many UFE especially on her fhand wing
Iga breaks again her fhand doing the damage. This match is 3 hours long,I feel Kanepi had to win in straights, the match with Sabalaneka I now feel has taken its toll on her, remember she is 36 years young.

Iga Swiatek will now serve for a place in the s/ final serving at 5-2...oh wait Iga just put in an ugly service game and was broken, which came out of nowhere
Kanepi gets one of the breaks back will serve at 3-5
On her 2nd MP Iga Swiatek wins the match 46 76(2) 63 and will play Danielle Collins in the s/final.
Kanepi I have always been a fan and you had a great tournament defeating the No 2 seed I just felt you ran out of gas.Well Done!
