Yeah, it was a joke. Who did he play? He lucked out and didn't have to play Stan. His record against the guys he played - 41 wins, 4 losses
Kohlschreiber (rank 33) - 6 wins, 1 loss
Nieminen - (92) - 5 wins, 1 loss
Tomic (26) - 3 wins, 0 losses
Anderson (14)- 4 wins, 1 loss
Cilic (9) - 12 wins, 0 losses
Gasquet (20) - 11 wins, 1 loss
He can beat this guys from his hyperbaric chamber while in a prone position - snoring.
Also, I never said Roger's draw was the toughest ever. I merely said Nole's draw was a cake walk. When the tourney started Roger had a lot of potential threats on his side of the draw - Monfils, Berdych, Nadal and Murray have all beaten him and can be difficult players for him. It's not his fault Nadal has his head up his butt and Berdych flamed out. Who did Nole have on his side of the draw - Stan, Cilic (who's been worthless since last year's US Open), Nishikori (another snoozer since the US Open), Raonic (coming off injury and no match for Nole anyway), Kyrgios (who can't seem to win more than 2 matches in a row) and perennial under-achiever Dimitrov. I'm not saying it's Nole's fault that aside from Stan none of these guys are a threat to him. That's just the way it is. That's why Roger's still #2 at nearly 34 and has a great chance to win Slam #18. The fields are deep on paper only. When they go out and play the matches it's transparent that there's really only 3-4 guys (5 when Nadal finally gets his act together) who consistently have a shot at even making the final, let alone winning.
