No chance of Federer retiring for next 1.5 years anyhow and given this will be played mid 2017 he'll play at least till the end of that year as he's not gonna quit mid year. So another 2 years minimum.

So much for the extra time off after RG ...

I wonder how this will affect his results the following week in Halle. He's getting older, not younger. You'd think he would be reducing his schedule, not increasing it, but they obviously made him an offer he couldn't refuse.

Do you think he'd be swayed by money, T? He's richer than Rockerfeller. But it never surprises me when players go the far flung places for dosh... :nono

You answered your own question, of course, so yes, I think he -- and every other player -- can be swayed by money.

I posted about the Stuttgart possibility in the Fed Schedule 2016 thread. I was making the assumption that he would go there if he loses in the first week at RG and not otherwise. Actually,
he may still do that.

From the point of view of tournament organizers, they need to put his name out there so that the tickets are sold etc. He can always drop out at the last minute citing injury if he goes deep at RG.
Nonetheless, I think Fed signed the deal in good faith. He will definitely participate if he goes out on or before R16 at RG.

In another article, I read that Milos has discharged also his manager, but Piatti remains on the team.
