Well it's only a week away, the DC final, we'll see what happens.

What's going to happen is, they will probably have a joint press conference together, say nothing serious happened and it is water under the bridge and all that matters is the DC and yaddi yaddi yadda and we will never know exactly what happened.

As for the DC, may the better team win.

I think Djokovic is being smart and graceful. The worst it looks, the better people feel about the whole thing. I'm pretty sure Federer will play DC normally.

Sounds like a bunch of speculation to me. Stan is ticked off he somehow lost the match and wants to place the blame away from where it belongs. Stan hit a bunch at Roger yesterday and was celebrating even after the umps screwed Roger royally yearerday

So much for that "so called" friendship! Roger's running game on all of us! He makes out like he and Rafa are tight too, but I bet they hate each other's guts for obvious reasons! I can relate many reasons why! :dodgy: :angel:

Stan probably looks up to Roger and feels additional pressure because he has always been overshadowed and that has hurt him in their matches. Roger probably doesn't view Stan as a consistent threat even now.

I've never thought they're actually friends. My impression has always been the media make them out to be friends, because that has fit various useful narratives they've tried to push (especially during the Olympics). In reality, however, I doubt Roger and Stan have much, if anything, to do with each other off court.

The media always assumes that non-American countrymen are friends. I remember Nadal and Verdasco being billed as friends prior to their AO 2009 encounter when Nadal was actually calling bull$hit on a Verdasco injury timeout at Queens 2007 (yeah yeah, irony and all, that's not the point).

Stan and Fed never struck me as friends.

Yeah, the umpire made some horrendous calls in that match. Didn't see Stan look too ticked off then. Remember this is a guy who previously left his wife and kid. Not exactly known for his good character traits and he's often got pretty vocal against many other opponents in matches.

Darth, come on, even if you think the other person didn't play as well as he could have, would you say it in public like that? To a compatriot?? How about Roger lifting Stan and supporting him a little bit more, motivate him so that he does well. He is a very good player, better than all of Serbian players except Nole and Serbian team was able to win it once and make it to the final on another occasion. :snigger

Stan competed for his country over and over again, sure they don't always feel "fit" to play but most players do it anyway.

^ I'm pretty sure Stan was criticizing Federer's apparent lack of commitment before the match. Maybe Roger shouldn't have said what he said but if there was a bone to pick then absolutely talk trash about the guy.

So from that perspective it helped. I really thought I played, you know, great in doubles throughout the tournament. I really carried Stan through a few matches, you know, and then after that he really started to play well. I was just happy that I was finally playing good doubles again, because I never really did that well anymore in doubles, which was really disappointing for me.
