I think that grey outfit is hideous. I don't like the stripy ones either though think those red shorts would go well with that red t-shirt. I like the other outfits though I think the peach ones would look better on the ladies. It's just my opinion though.

Not a fan of Nike. Prefer the European brands, I guess some of it is just personal legacy stuff that dates back to the old football casual clothing from many moons ago. Adidas and then stuff like Sergio Tacchini, Ellesse, Lacoste and once upon a time Fila before they became Korean owned.

The grey is Hydrogen. I'm guessing you don't like the skulls? I actually really like them, and I think the grey is very elegant against the clay. I also like the peach. I generally like blue on clay, but I don't care for the blue shorts to go with the blue shirt that Rafa is wearing. All too much blue. I don't like Novak's red shorts and red and white shirt. It's just not classy enough for Paris. I will agree with you on the stripes, though. This is horrible. He always dresses like an American frat boy (which I always disliked about Roddick.) And since this is a fashion thread, can we talk about the backwards cap?

People over 18 should be slapped for wearing a cap backwards.

LOL! The NYTimes did a recent article about the backwards cap. Very amusing. I'll find it and post. I get the superstitions of players, but I was watching a recent match in one of the last 2-3 tourneys and there was the issue of sun in the eyes of the server. The guy serving was wearing a backwards cap and I thought: "Turn the bloody bill around! That's what it's for."

NYTimes on the backwards cap.

Lol. I laughed at this...

The look is now ubiquitous: Barack Obama wears his cap backward on vacation, Paul Ryan in the weight room.
“He looks like the 30-year-old actor pretending to be a teenager in your ninth-grade health class video about Making Better Choices,”

I don't remember Pernfors wearing a cap backward, I kind of associated him more with a flat top haircut in his playing days.

Somehow, Hewitt still gets away with it. I think it's the blonde, bratty surfer type image that goes hand in hand.

The Edberg Adidas top, circa 1987 is still pretty iconic for me:

I think he designed it himself and this was when most were wearing pretty standard attire. I think Lendl did his own design on the Adidas garb around the same time.

Which is why it works for Shapo, who is actually 19. Denis the Menace is SO the surfer-dude of tennis. But he's a kid. And I don't mind people in their workouts doing it. (OK, or maybe not so much.) But on the courts? At least Gasquet got over it.

You're right about me not liking the skulls. I think the only place for skulls are covered by skin, fur, feathers & scales on people & animals & in graves. I also had to watch lots of pirate films as a child unless reading which I did a lot even then. I remember learning about grave-robbers in history class too so when I see skulls on clothing it just seems too macabre to me. My least favourite colours are green, brown & grey. That shade of grey isn't too bad. I'm still old-fashioned but not anti-homosexual as I've get homosexual friends of both genders. As long as my lesbian friends don't try it on with me I'm o.k. We talk about many things. Getting back on track the point is I prefer pinks & peaches on women. They're nice outfits but I'd prefer to see them on women. We can definitely talk about backwards caps. I never liked seeing people wearing caps like that. I was like "Hey! Why can't you wear your cap the right way round? The peak is supposed to be in front".

I never wore a cap backwards even as a little girl. The only difference to how I wear a cap now compared to how I used to wear 1 is I slot my hair in the hole in the back now as I lost 1 I really liked once as the wind blew it off, I had to chase it, it was across the road & while waiting to cross someone picked it up & nicked it. My hair is very thick so does a good job of keeping the cap on.

There is another sort of Lacoste outfit for RG, the one that Paire and many other players wear.

Is it possible to buy Lendl's and Edberg's Adidas shirts anywhere? You can buy Borg's Fila in their UK shop.

You can (or could) get some of the earlier Lendl ones through the Adidas Originals collections. I've only seen Edberg ones second-hand on Ebay.

You can still get Diadora Borg shoes, although they're just called Diadora B Elite now. I read somewhere that Borg wasn't allowed to wear these in North America during his playing days.

How odd. Any idea why?
