This progression reflects its reputation for excellence, consistently attracting elite talent and delivering high-quality competition on the international stage.

Held on indoor hard courts at the modern TipsArena Linz, the tournament is renowned for its fast-paced conditions and electric atmosphere. From inaugural champion Barbara Paulus in 1987 to modern stars such as Coco Gauff, Aryna Sabalenka, and Jelena Ostapenko, the Linz Open has built a legacy of excellence. Linz

Situated along the banks of the Danube River, Linz is Austria’s third-largest city and a dynamic blend of history, innovation, and culture. As the capital of Upper Austria, it has transformed from an industrial powerhouse into a thriving centre of technology, art, and education, earning recognition as a UNESCO City of Media Arts.

The historic Hauptplatz — one of the largest town squares in Central Europe — reflects Linz’s rich heritage, while landmarks such as the Lentos Art Museum and the Ars Electronica Center showcase its forward-looking spirit. This fusion of tradition and modernity defines the city’s character, making it one of Austria’s most intriguing urban destinations.

Linz’s riverside location adds to its charm, with the Danube shaping both its landscape and its identity. Elegant promenades, cultural festivals, and vibrant cafés create a welcoming atmosphere for visitors throughout the year. During tournament week, the city’s cosmopolitan energy provides an ideal backdrop for world-class sport.

Refined yet progressive, Linz mirrors the qualities of its signature tennis event — precise, innovative, and continually evolving. Together, the city and the Upper Austria Ladies Linz form a distinguished stop on the WTA Tour, where tradition flows seamlessly toward excellence.

Bejlek has withdrawn with a lower back injury. Kalinina comes in to replace her.

What do you think of Eala @MargaretMcAleer? She seems to be quite a phenomenon with fans and endorsements.
Eala has certainly put the Philippines her home country 'on track' with a huge fan following where ever she plays, also has been at the Rafa Nadal Academy for many years, going back to do training blocks, recently I read, she has a good mentality, quick around the court, the one big thing missing in her game is her serve, until she tries to improve her serve big titles wont be coming her way, women on tour with strong return games just return her serve with ease
