Top seed Emma Raducanu was defeated in 3 sets by Qualifer Wang Xinyu 61 67(0) 75.This is Emma's last tournament,she really needs to get her new coach on board ASAP,Torben Beltz,(ex coach of Angie Kerber).......some of her shot selections at times were puzzling and also just standing at the baseline belting the ball straight to Wang,did not work in her favor at times.Hopefully she will have a good 'off season' in preparation for the AO in 2022.

Simona Halep had to withdraw from the s/final due to a injured left knee .J.Cristian gets a walkover to the final.

I think this tournament is 'jinxed'.....Danielle Collins retired ( right shoulder injury) after the 1st set against Alison Riske,who wins by retirement,7-5 1st set and will play J.Christian in the final.Fingers crossed both ladies remain healthy for the final.

Alison played much better in the 2nd set,cut down on UFE and found her over all game,wins the 2nd set 62

Well done to Alison Riske who held her nerve and calm in the final set winning 7-5,she was pushed by LL Cristian

Alison Riske defeated Jaqueline Cristian 26 62 75.....winning the Linz Tournament.This is Alison's 3rd WTA Title.

I have to admit I was surprised Riske managed to pull out the victory. After Emma lost I thought for sure Collins would win the title, but it was not meant to be. Congratulations to Allison.
