As to the above, Trump has reached a new low in his self-involvement.

And even Republicans and his MAGA faithful are calling him out for his one. No amount of anyone talking about fascism has more power than what he says, and he constantly harangues against his perceived enemies. There is no empathy in him, nor generosity in his spirit.

I would argue that Trump Derangement Syndrome is his own derangement. He's getting crazier by the day.

What a terrible thing to say, that I don't care that Charlie Kirk was killed.

But in terms of demonizing the other side, this is what Trump posted about Rob Reiner's death:

Yes I saw that, and it’s not unexpected from Trump: incoherent, ignorant, rambling, with bad grammar too. But your side, and it’s obsession with the words “fascists” and “Nazis” while seeming to tar everyone who disagrees with the label are out of control with this level of violent bad faith and dangerous rhetoric…

Actually, we can both see that she was kicking and screaming during her arrest. Sure, we don't know the full story, or if excessive force was used, but you have invented a scenario, and you neglect the testimony you see. I don't think we have to agree to disagree. I think we're both waiting for more information. But I'm rather surprised that you side with the cops.
You did not read my post carefully enough. I tried to separate clearly what I can objectively infer from the facts, from what I think that happened. What I think happened is just my personal opinion, which as anyone's else is full of personal bias. That is mine "invented scenario" -- everyone has one, difference that I am fully aware if the "invented" part.

So, I am not "siding" with cops in the objective part of my analysis, but, yes, in the personal take I am. It is indeed surprising. But more and more I see cops more as someone with a difficult job at hand than anything else. I know that they can be brute and insensitive, but again I believe that they become that given the hardships they face (not only that, of course). On the other hand, I have seen so many supposed "victims" (as the lady in this video) who actually haven't lost nothing (just gained attention, as @Kieran would put), that my personal bias inverted its polarity a long while ago.

Ancient times were marked by the earth-centric x geo-centric debate. Poor people of the ancient world! They were not aware of the Trump-centric model for the universe!

No, I read it carefully...all of them. I only say that you're leaning away from the only thing that we DO know, which is what that woman tells us. I understand perfectly well which part was your invented scenario. I'm just surprised that you think that's the mostly likely thing to have happened. But I see more news of how ICE behaves this year than you do, most likely.

You find it impossible to say something bad about Trump without doing a "what about" on the left, however falsely equivalent. There is nothing that compares to this, really, except for other of Trump's comments about dead enemies. No one ever told Trump not to speak ill of the dead, I guess. He insults (wrongly) the current state of Reiner's career, assumes that his death must be because he hated Trump, and then uses the moment to buff up his own record as President. I mean, WTF?

This has nothing to do with anyone calling anyone a "nazi," or "dangerous rhetoric." It's not political. It's a domestic tragedy. Only Trump had to make it political and ugly. For no reason.

I find it staggering and not staggering at the same time (it’s a balancing act) that you believe this woman. Why?

Because she votes Democrat. That’s the only reason. If she was a Republican you’d be all over her..

No, I brought up what Trump said, because it was so appallingly out of line and self-involved. He's the President. He could, and should, say something kind, or say nothing at all. Frankly, it didn't require his input.

No, I've told you before. I take her account onboard because she said it. Her husband supported it, and all the video evidence we have is her being carted of, physically. As I have been discussing with @mrzz, there are yet things to be known, given that there are two versions of the story, but I don't see any reason to dismiss her version, out of hand. It's fair to at least consider it until we see more video evidence. The other part, which seems to bother neither you nor Mr. Z is that she was held in shackles for 4 hours. Now, I don't know how things go in Ireland or Brazil, but here, that's kind of shocking.

It didn’t require your input into the topic of leftists encouraging violence against public figures by calling them Nazis and fascists.

I’m not shocked by that. The Left’s attitude towards the police and law enforcement, and laws is appalling

I don’t believe her for three reasons:

She’s an activist.

A left wing activist.

A left wing American activist…

Trump has classified fentanyl as a "weapon of mass destruction." By presidential order. He says that "they" are send it to the US to murder Americans. I'm not sure who "they" are, but I fear he's using it as an excuse for war. I think anyone who sends fentanyl to the US is using is doing it to make money. Trump is conflating drug addiction and excuses for war in the strangest way.

I don't actually believe Trump wants to go to war, say anything about the man, but war is not something he seems to have any tolerance for. It's his one redeeming quality. I do believe however that he'll continue to use the Venezuelan situation as a distraction from his domestic woes. As a Republican lawmaker pointed out, why not go after the Mexican cartels who are far more complicit regarding fentanyl than Venezuela is.

I'm confused, if she was a "watcher" (correct me if I'm wrong), wouldn't that have made her supportive of the process? I haven't paid that much attention, so please excuse me if I got that wrong
