BTW,
Belinda Bencic will be back inside the Top 20 after Wimbledon. She has zero points to defend as well from here until November

And Clara Tauson will be in Top 20 for the first time..
Good for Clara I usually wait until Wimbledon is over for the New Top Ten and also the players that have had career highs and have moved up from their previous rankings etc., and then post them on the WTA News post

Can we also have 2 new polls for the womens SFs for tomorrow please
I'll post a poll for the final, once it's set tomorrow. I tried doing polls for women's semis before, but no one voted on it, so I'm only going to do the poll for the final.

Well that means I have to do pre posts for both matches, so if you dont mind please bring up 2 separate polls for the womens SF
BTW when you did it last time I didnt even see it, even Keli said the same

The women's forum has never gotten as much traffic as the atp. Been that way for years, even when we had the likes of the sisters, Pova, the Belgians, etc.

Okay, I'll think about doing polls for the semis at the US Open. But what makes it hard is the scheduling of women's QFs on Wednesdays. That's the day I'm in the office, so I don't get home until about 5:30 pm ET, and outside of the US Open (which start on Thursday night), that leaves just mere hours until the women's semis start.

I wish Wimbledon would have kept the all women's QFs on Tuesdays. That would make things a lot easier.

But if I reinstate the women's semis polls, they better get at least 5 votes on them or I'm just going back to final only.

Ladies Semi Finals Thursday 10th July,
Centre Court starting at 1.30pn local time,

Sabalenka (1) vs Anisimova
H2H Anisimova leads 5-3, Sabalenka has won the three of four meetings.

Aryna has become the most consistent force in the womens game over the last 3 GS season, reaching the SFs in 10 of her last 11 appearances at the majors.

Amanda has been on a personal journey that took her to the depths, she grieved the loss of her father/coach, dealt with mental issues, she's back now at 23, playing assertive tennis of her career.

Amanda could have the edge is pure power, one of a small group that could potentially outhit Sabalenka, but they will probably nulify each other in the power category
The probable outcome will be determind by the execution of serve and return, and the ability to handle the ebbs and flows of a Wimbledon SF.

Players are warming up
Amanda has won the toss and will serve first, nice, sunny day in London
Amanda is quickly into her rhythm a pure striker of the ball
Saba had 3 BPs and Amanda saved all of them, Amanda has to watch her serve she served 2 DFs in her service game and got away with it, Saba had her chances to break and should have, she tended to over hit her shots
4 games all

Ladies Semi Finals Thursday 10th July
Centre Court this match will follow the Sabalenka v Anisimova match starting at 1.30pm local time,

Swiatek (2) vs Bencic
Swaitek leads their H2H 3-1

Both these ladies are first two time Wimbledon semi finalists. Iga is coming into her own on the grass this year, and she might be able to finally break her year long title drought by winning Wimbledon.

Bencic has always loved playing on the grass at Wimbledon she has made her first SF at Wimbledon this year, just 15 months after giving birth to her baby daughter Bella, in a season that saw her start barely inside the Top 500 of the WTA rankings.

Iga has defeated Bencic at Wimbledon in 2023 in 3 sets, this feels different, Bencic has been playing inspiring tennis.Bencic will have to try to avoid long baseline rallies with Iga.Bencic will try to disrupt her by taking the ball early, widening the court with angles. Serve and return will also play a major role, so Bencic will seek to have an advantage early in the rallies. Bencic will be back inside the Top 20 after Wimbledon, also she has zero points to defend as well from here until November.
Swiatek has shown a special kind of tennis at the championships.

Listen, these folks need not be sitting in this heat if they are old, unwell or know they have health/fitness issues. Are we going to stop every 20 minutes because some old foggy isn't cutting this heat?

Agree, they keep fainting for the last 2 weeks. Stay at home under air condition if you can't handle the summer's sun.

Anisimova is hitting harder than Saba. Rooting for the American here.
