Either be in Sascha quarter or his half meeting Alcaraz early like he did "down under!" Ya just never know playing either Carlos or Jannik early might be better than in the final! I'm sorta concerned I've seen no effort in the Djokovic camp to get in any practice event on grass!
i'm with you that I think not getting even an exho on grass prior seems like an error.

I think I read Fritz dropped in the seedings while Draper elevated to his spot at #4 at Wimbledon! :astonished-face::fearful-face::face-with-hand-over-mouth:
I think so, but they're both playing well enough to be concerning. Draper is at 4, which is better, as he gets his own quarter, and won't see anyone above him till the semis. Tay drops to 5, but still, top 8 is good.

weakest surface or not, the boy has reached the SF before and beat Chuck on grass before he was the lawnmower man. Clay isn't his best surface either but he reached Rome final and held I don't know how many MP's in that RG final.

I think Sinner's game should translate well to grass, and we just haven't seen the best of him on it, yet. And, that said, he reached the Wimbledon QF last year and SF the year before. He's still developing, I think.

We shall see, I would have liked Sinner to have more grass matches though not to be

I have always thought his clay game is a work in progress? Sinner stated that his weakest surface is clay, I think we should take him on his word

I agree with that. But obviously not especially "weak." Same way that Carlos is no slouch on HCs. He won his first Major at the USO.

He was unfortunate to run into a hot Bublik. Yes, I would like him to have gotten a few more matches in, too, but I think he'll be fine. I've stated all my reasons. Now we wait for the draws.

You've probably already reported this, @MargaretMcAleer, but I see Ruud is out with knee injury. It's a sad commentary, but I wasn't even thinking of him. Barely even in the clay season, and he's #15 in the world..

Well it will be a hell of a player to defeat Carlos on the grass this year
Most important thing to me has been his serve, I mean 40 Aces in his last 3 matches at Queens? I know he has been fine tuning his serve, and it is now working like a treat
For Carlos to again win the Chanel Slam, let alone defend it from last year, would just be 'incredible' this young man is just 'soo special' and as a tennis fan he is just so great to watch.

Not surprised his knee injury from RG isnt 100% and lets face it Rudd and Grass, I believe he is a better golfer on grass than a player

I’m not quite disagreeing with you but on the other hand, grass is it’s own animal.

The only question I have is how much more development will Sinner get? The serve, perhaps , though I tend to think improving your serving % at critical times is more mental than anything.

Sinner has won Halle before so he can play on the turf, and now as # 1 he’s mentally tougher.

So yeah, Sinner may excel and improve more on the surface but so far his record is good but not spectacular. Alcaraz is younger and at the moment is on quite a roll (28-1) At barely 22 I feel more his game is still developing.

So to me with these guys, the technical is fairly mature with both, it’s the confidence and swagger, especially in crunch time.

Just finished reading to Gill Gross comments, one of the best tennis/sports analyst presently in our game,
Gil said we are lucky in tennis that the movements of the sport don't pose big risk for ligaments ruptures
Elbows ULC tears in Baseball, ( I guess El Dude to comment as he is a big baseball fan) achilles/ACL tears in basketball and football seem to be skyrocketing as athletes push the limits
Personally speaking, it is crazy how physically draining tennis is, but the movement itself dont fatigue the big injuries

Positive week for Meddy even though he didnt win in Halle , back in the Top 10. but misses the top 8 seeding if he had won the title at Wimbledon
Will be seeded #9 and can draw Djokovic in R16, Meddy will be defending SF points.also still title-less since 2023.

Well IMO not quite the same, Alcaraz has won multiple Masters (3) & a slam on HC, in Sinner’s case, neither so far. In fact, his lone clay tourney win was 3 years ago in 2022.

As to Sinner saying that Clay is his weakest surface, well result-wise he’s made Grand Slam 2 QF’s & SF & a Grand Slam final on the red clay as well as a Masters final. That trumps his best results on grass IMO.

As of now, Sinner is a HC specialist. Which is not a dig as 17 out of his 19 wins have been on HC including 3 Slams, 4 Masters & a YE ATP. He is that good on the surface. Hell he could conceivably win enough just on HC in the years to come to remain #1 without winning Majors on other surfaces.

But again I do hope we get a Wimbledon final between Alcaraz & Sinner.
