Give Sinner credit he was flawless today without Divine Intervention, btw my Rosary Beads were blessed by the former Pope, Francis, I have to get my cousins to get me a new pair of rosary beads blessed by Pope Leo, lets see if they really work anyway I only used them for Rafa's matches eg AO 2020 when he was doing my head in I havent needed them for another player as yet, though I was tempted to get them out when Jannik was down 2 sets to love in the AO final against Meddy, I refrained.

Your father can't be THAT old...it's been a part of Italy for more than a hundred years. Italy has only been a country for 163 years, so that makes it very Italian. And Sinner is clearly Italian. Auguri that he's 98 and doing so well! He can choose to ignore the unification of Italy if he likes, I suppose, though it's rather rich that he's abruzzese and he looks down his nose at southerners. And, I'm sorry, but the Moroccan comment would be taken as an offense, whether it's meant as one, or not. He's old enough to do as he likes, but you are not. You can't just ignore national borders because you want to. You're not Putin.

About your whereabouts, seems you had a lot of fun! That's quite Italian, going from one place to another, and my father knows that quite well. He lived in a lot of different cities across the country in his childhood, got arrested in Bologna when he was still a teenager, so on and so forth. It is part of (old) Italian culture to treat other parts of the country as "foreign". He has a lot of fun with those games. There is a reason the word "paese" stands either for a country or a town....

It's alright. Not much else going on at the moment. LOL. But you both need a geography lesson. Florence is not in "Roma," for example. Yes, Italy is highly regional. But just wait until Italy plays another World Cup, and it's all Italian flags everywhere.

I guess Margaret knows that, people are allowed to get confused while typing. Are you going to tell us that the Italian language was born in Florence too? I once met a guy in Montepulciano who said that the Italian language was actually born in the building were his shop was (and he made a very good case!!!!).

Happy are you? I said yesterday Jannik probably peaked too soon, has come out flat, Paul on the other hand is playing great and deserves his score soo far

I can't think of a good historic comp for Sinner. I feel like you can hybridize Fedal pretty well to come up with Alcaraz. But Sinner? Is he a bit like a modern day Lendl with a better serve?

Actually my husband when watching Jannik last year, compared him a bit to Lendl in ways, yes a better serve, also showing little emotion on court

Is this really entertaining to watch? I suppose by yesteryear's imagination, the way guys are playing is quite impressive, but I still call it "mindless ball-bashing!" Every time I think a pt. s/b over by a great striking of the ball or volley, it ricochets back off the opponent's racket w/ ease turning defense into offense! As I've said, the women aren't much better, just whacking away at the ball! They used to be my fall-back when the men started going "boom-boon" tennis 40 yrs. ago! The ladies still played chessboard tennis at times; esp. w/ Hingis at the top of the ranks! Sinner's accomplishing a lot; w/ smoke & mirrors IMO! Not sure he can keep it up w/o breaking down both physically & mentally! The game is so grueling! It's automatic for today's players to WD from their next events if they make the SF or Final; even Alcaraz! Paul's getting the most out of his game, but has to "red line" it to make an impression on the elites of the game!
