Anyone who loved the classic HBO series show Rome will be sad to hear that Ray Stevenson, the actor who played Titus Pullo, passed away yesterday, aged 58. It was a terrific performance by a gifted man…
OMG, I loved that series Kieran, passed away at such a young age, agree he was a gifted and man

I'm very sorry to hear that. I thought she was brilliant. May she R.I.P.

The Best was chosen for an anthem song for our football league here in Australia, she actually came down and sang it at our Grand Final a couple of times
Wow! That must have been an amazing experience.

Yes my husband and I were both there, I also saw her live in a Sydney concert in the late 70's I was exhausted just watching her on stage, great dancer as well, she was just a Ultimate Performer in every sense of the word

^ ah Moxie--an all-time favorite. I still have my parents' record they bought in 1963 that they played in the house when I was a wee lad. I know every song on the LP, and especially like Corcovado and Dolice, along with this iconic tune. Absolutely loved Stan Getz and still do--that tenor saxophone is just the most soothing thing, especially when tied to Astrud and Joao singing.

Just heard American actor Treat Williams died in an motorcycled accident at 71 ...:anxious-face-with-sweat:
It's crazy but it seems Treat Williams was around forever in films/TV,/theatre to close to 50 years

from a hippie in Hair:

to the intense cop drama "Prince of the City"

to countless TV shows, we are going to miss you Treat : (

Agreed he was amazing in that Sidney Lumet movie, they dont make those gritty dramas anymore.

Its funny but in my first trip ever to NY as a young teen my mom took us to see the musical “Over here” a satirical take on WW2 homefront starring the Andrew Sisters, IIRC Treat Williams played a young soldier in that and it also had in the cast efore they were “names “ Anne Reinking & Marylu Henner. Treat was funny as a naive soldier.

Treat always came back to the stage during his career, these old school actors are addicted to it. ; )

I cannot believe I missed his passing last week, the great writer Milan Kundera

“The Unbearable Lightness of Being” what a masterpiece.
