Elena Rybakina,

" I didn't expect I'd play that good. Yesterday was a really tough match. I just wanted to come and enjoy and it really went my way. I think I played one of the best matches of this year. Hopefully I'll play like this on Sunday".

Elena Rybakina up to a new career high on Monday,
# 7 if she wins IW
#8 if she loses to Sabalenka in the final.

Iga Swaitek losses so far this year have been all in straight sets,
Pegula 62 62
Rybakina 64 64
Krejcikova 64 62
Rybakina 62 62

Swiatek is already making a case as one of the most dominant front runners of the 21st century but a lot of work be done on digging deep when losing.

Totally agree with this. When she gets the taste of what she is usually doing to her opponents she just disappears off the court. I'm actually glad we get a juicy final and repeat of this year AO final.

The Czech doubles team of Krejcikova/Siniakova started well winning the 1st set 61, though their level of play in the 2nd set went down in the 2nd set, due to the fact Siniakova did not play well, Haddad Maia/ L Siegemund were targeting her play and have won the 2nd set 76 (3)...Siniakova will have to raise her game for the Czech team to be able to win the doubles titles at IW. Super t/break has begun for the final set

So true. She loves dishing out the bakery products but doesn't handle it well when the ovens are fired up for her. She needs to work on that w/ her shrink since they travel together.

Yes she looked really angry when she left the court.Iga comes of a little childish, and even when she is speaking she comes of as childlike.I hope she had a good cry to get over this loss.

Well some updated news regarding Iga, apparently she had a 'rib problem' in her SF against Rybakina, and could not compete 100%, she will be advised by her medical team if she will play Miami, remember she is also the defending champion at Miami.
Well the 'rib' problem must not have been that bad, or she would have withdrawn, the problem was she didnt have a game plan against Rybakina, she should have moved Rybakina around the court, more, she hasnt got the power off the ground as Rybakina has.Lets see if Iga will go to Miami.
