Sara Errani beat Petra Kvitova in straight sets! The first time that ever happened, Sara tried 6 times before.

Top 2 seeds are gone, next in line is Flavia Pennetta the US champion(she won today), she is #3 seed.

It was a good day for seeds, other than Bencic who withdrew, they all advanced.

The prime-time match of the day ended in a close two set win by Ana over Venus.

Flavia the top seed advanced, though dropping another set along the way.

One match left to finish the second round, that match and some third round matches will be next.

I am wondering how Mugu will hold up, she got  pretty battered last week. She did get half a week rest.
