OK!
4 Days to our date in Rome! 900 points on line.

Here is last year's poll.

Serena won it after Masha held it for 2 years, who wins this year?

I am only listing 5 options since everyone votes Serena anyway, make your own pick if you have too.

She was in superb form last year. No one is at that level this year.

Not everyone votes Serena...you often vote against her. I admire your willingness to be wrong;)

I wouldn't be surprised if Serena withdraws from Rome. She already has what appears pretty major strapping on her left thigh. Given what happened in Charleston I wouldn't be surprised to see a withdrawal.

Good point…she likes to rest more than she likes to overplay, and has never feared going into a Slam without massive (or sometimes any,) preparation.

I'd like to see the next few days play out before I vote.

I agree with your thoughts. When I saw that strapping on Serena's left thigh....it reminded me what happened in Charleston.

If Serena wants to defend her RG title....I think it would be wise if she does withdraw from Rome.

Anyway we shall see.

Serena announced she will play Rome although she pulled out of Madrid.
"I am planning to play in Rome. Fortunately, I have a bye next week so will have an extra day of rest," Williams added. "For now, I will take it one day at a time and take advantage of some extra rest."

From this article:

We will know for sure in a couple of days.

Yeah I understand the logic of resting up, but I'm also afraid of rustiness. I don't want some 1st round flameout a la Razzano because she's rusty. I dunno...I'm pretty torn as to whether she should play Rome.

Agree with your thoughts.I think Serena should not play Rome....just my thoughts. She is good enough to play herself into form at RG.

I think she should play unless she feels uncomfortable. Then withdraw and take the week after to rest up for RG.
