Strong, and very good. A very close friend is going through those same procedures - unrelated to United Healthcare, but they ought to be ashamed…
It is a shame that doctors in this country have to waste so much time on the phone trying to justify their decisions to private insurance companies. And they do it, too. This video is what's wrong with health care insurance in this country, in a nutshell. It's profit-based, and not care-based.
The narrator of that video says that most people in the country celebrated the guy that murdered the CEO of United Healthcare. That's not really true. But I'll tell you what IS true: when we heard the murder victim was the head of a big health insurance company, everyone said, "Oh, I know why that guy got murdered." And it wasn't for sleeping for some other guy's wife. Such is the frustration with health care insurance in the US.
I know you like to rag on Obama, but he passed the Affordable Care Act, which at least got a huge number of Americans insured, which is something. He did what he could within the confines of the system. When Bill Clinton got elected, he naively believed he could overhaul the system completely, and bring in universal healthcare. So many years later, and insurance companies still run this country. But, even though Republicans originally tried to repeal the ACA, they realized that both Democratic and Republican voters were not letting go of their new-found health insurance.
