Well don’t forget Carlos in Paris, but yeah, Sinner is having a banner year, kind of like Roger at the same age. Looking at the semis, Novak will be dangerous for Carlos if Carlos doesn’t open up and play his usual game. Trying to play on Novaks terms didn’t work in Oz and won’t in New York. But if Carlos wins the semi, I fancy him in the final. Conversely if Novak beats Carlos, the Business As Usual between Novak and Sinner lately is a straight sets victory for the Italian…
I still think on a fast hard court Sinner has the edge, it was a shame in Cinncy when he got sick for the final, could hardly stand, up to then he was playing well and he had to retire, and it has taken a few matches in NYC to get back to his usual playing level on a HC.
One match at a time,I am not getting ahead of myself.
As my husband pointed out to me, Sinner could have been playing for a calendar slam at the USO ( of course he still has to make the final) when he was serving for the final at RG this year,

Carlo's coach. Ferrero.does not dare to name Carlos as the favorite for the match today, saying Novak will give its all and will be extremely tough. He believes in Carlos athleticism. but acknowledges Novak's formidable experience and motivation to win the tournament
Novak has won all 4 times they have met on a hard court, leads their H2H 5-3

Well regardless the Novak fans are not happy with the daytime match, apparently it is going to be hot and they dont want him to play in the heat :)
Well boo-hoo. We're supposed to give a flying fart that his fandom doesn't want him playing during the day. He can't get all the night slots even though he had more than anyone else this fortnight. Better get used to playing in the day if he intends to make the final anyway.

Monica Seles will be in Novak Djokovic box today during his match against Alcaraz.
" I know he needs all the energy possible, and I will give my all support to him from the stands".

Source. sportklun.nlinfo,rs/tenis/us-open
BTW There have been rumors that Seles could be added to Novak's coaching team, after Novaks comments about her recently, as I say it is only rumors at this stage.

If I had to guess, my gut tells me Roger Federer (who will play his first exhibition match in 3 years at Shanghai next month) is going to make a return to professional tennis next year at the US Open (after he gets inducted to the Tennis HOF).

I think Rafa is done. He will never play another match, whether professionally or exhibition.

Rafa has never come out and said he is done playing a exhibition? at the moment he is playing golf which he has always loved and is doing well at it
Rafa said recently he will get back to playing tennis,he has not ruled out playing exhibition matches

Has Novak called for the trainer yet? :popcorn
LOL! not yet but if he loses the 1st set I am sure it could be on the cards, Carlos giving him fits at the moment on his serve and has come out like a Bullet train

Can kind of smell from a blind distance that the break point third game might be crucial. Let’s see!
