Three tournaments this week for the ladies.

Upper Austria Ladies Linz, WTA International, Hard Court, $226,750
Hong Kong: WTA International, Hard Court, $226,750
Tianjin Open, WTA International, Hard Court, $426,750

Sharapova, Kvitova and Peng headline the field in Tianjin. Caroline Garcia has pulled out after her finals triumph.

Fairly weak field in Austria, with Magdalena Rybarikova installed as the top seed.

The strongest field can be found in Hong Kong with Svitolina, Venus, Caro, Aga and Vesnina among the participants.

Good to see Venus entered in this tournament. Bouchard gets Woz in round one. Her ranking has fallen off the cliff. What is the story there?

It looks like Aga is past her peak. Maybe she won't play too many more years now that she is married.

I'm hoping Petra wins this title, but she will probably choke it away to MS.

I think Bencic could be top five because she has high tennis IQ. She has to get more power which is possible, given her frame, as long as she keeps her weight down. I noticed a few extra pounds impacts her movement.

I know she's had lots of injuries but what do you think her ceiling might be? Lots of people had high hopes for her.

Top 10 at most Baron. Her serve is very attackable for all the big hitters to feast on. I don't see her winning a slam but she might get to the final of one if things fell into place

First Svitolina withdraws today and then Caroline Wozniacki after she had an injury in her left arm during practise today

She had a speech on centercourt where she apologized and signed a few balls and there were some selfies too

She should be ready for the WTA finals. As you can see in the video it's close to crying she is. The match was delayed for 20 minutes for a last minute check if she could play, and it was finally decided that the risk for the pain getting worse was too big. Information is from her brother Patrik.

Patrik: "She saw the chiropractor Thursday evening and she'll see him again twice on Friday. On Friday, they'll also decide if Torben (osteopath Hersborg) will be flown in or not."

So it's so serious that people are talking about possible retirement from SIngapore if she's not on top of her game. Will return with news in the gossip section when available.
