Unlike in Toronto, Men's 1st round matches start on Sunday itself in Cincy. Hence,
I am getting this thread started early to give folks a head start. Get your entries in
as soon as you could. However, better late than never. Good luck.

For ease of reference, I am giving a direct link for the draw here.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Here are the rules:

Regular Picks:

Pick 8 quarterfinalists (5 points each)
Pick 4 semifinalists from your 8 quarterfinalist picks (10 points each)
Pick 2 finalists from your 4 semifinalist picks (20 points each)
Pick 1 winner from your 2 finalist picks (40 points).

Your picks above should be COMPLETELY consistent. Also, you get points for each
correct pick (and not the maximum a player reaches). So, if you pick Nadal as
winner in MC and he wins Nadal alone will fetch you 5+10+20+40 = 75 points.

Dark Horse: You cannot name the defending champion or any one of the top 4 seeds
(not rankings) of the tournament as the dark horse. Your dark horse can
be one of your regular picks as well. But, one of your regular picks can be
a dark horse only if they meet the definition. You get points only if your
dark horse wins the whole event. In that case, you get 40 points. Otherwise
you get 0 points, even if your DH ends up being a finalist.

Wild Card: You cannot name the defending champion or previous year's finalist
or any one of the top 16 seeds (not rankings) of the tournament as
the wild card. You get 5 points if your WC reaches QF and not higher,
you get 10 points if your WC reaches SF and not higher, you get 20 points
if your WC is a finalist and not higherand you get 40 points if your WC
wins the event. Note that unlike the regular picks, the points that a WC
fetches you is based on the maximum level reached by him. Your WC
can be one of the regular picks. One of your regular picks can be a WC
as long as he meets the definition above. Finally, your WC can be the
same as DH as long as he meets both definitions.

The maximum amount of points that can be won by anyone is 240 (40 for QF picks,
40 for SF picks, 40 for finalist picks and 40 for the winner pick, 40 for DH pick and
40 for WC pick).

OK, there is actually a deadline also.

For Regular Members:
---------- Soft Deadline: Beginning of 1st round matches.
---------- Hard Deadline: Beginning of 2nd round matches.

For New and Returning Members:
---------- Soft Dealine: 11:00 AM Wednesday Morning.
---------- Hard Deadline: 11:00 AM Thursday Morning.

Finally, there is a 10% late penalty for entries received after the soft deadline.

How about if I offer a prize to the winner?
This will be something from the actual tournament.
But I will need at least 7 contestants.
So be brave and pick, you will win a prize.
The OP is also authorized to play.

A prize offer is exactly what is needed to bring some zest to this contest. :clap

Folks, the inaugural men's main draw match is scheduled for 4 p.m. on sunday.

Toronto finals is scheduled for 3 p.m. on sunday and most probably won't finish before that.
So, don't wait for the Toronto finals to finish. Get your entries in.

Late night out? Couldn't sleep? Missing Rafa?

If "the Worm" makes it to the quarters I will start calling you "Prophet". :p

I think the surface is good one for him, but I'd have Federer there, if he hadn't such a tough week in Montreal. The man is 33, played back to back 3 setters, has shown no signs of fatigue yet, but I think he'll have a natural age-related lapse next week. He isn't superhuman, after all, despite his extraordinary conditioning.

I doubt Roger would mind it too much, either... ;)

Isner, being a finalist last year, is not eligible for WC pick.

Tsonga is a seeded player and so cannot be wild card.
