I'm keeping this thread going in hopes that one day a story will be in here about the plane being found!

one of those underwater scanning devices has picked up some sort of frequency 'ping'..could be emitting from the plane wreak or it could be a Sperm Whale just being sociable and talking back.

There doesn't seem to be any good news in this situation right now. After all the work and all the money spent the plane hasn't been found!

I am sorry, I have to interrupt your soliloquy.

If I let you post one more message without interrupting you will beat my standing
record of 9 messages without a response on this board. Be thankful that I allowed
you to tie my record.

Thank you for letting me tie you :D And I do feel a little like I'm talking to myself so your post was appreciated! They haven't heard any more pings from the plane so they are talking about using a robot for a visual search. They still think they are in the right area, but I don't know? I didn't know there was a "Bermuda Triangle" for planes!

The Bermuda Triangle is actually the Bermuda Triangle for planes, too.

I don't want you to feel like you're completely talking to yourself, but you mostly are. That plane went down, and all of those people are dead. There is almost no possibility that we are going to find out what happened. You should consider no longer buying into the daily update. It is one tragedy in a world full of tragedies, and many of them greater. Until they come up with something actually concrete…I'd let it go.

EDIT: Unless, of course, you knew someone on that plane. In that case, excuse my insensitivity.

Sorry Moxie629--I now believe the plane will never be found and maybe even that it is never supposed to be found! I'll quit now.

It's a great mystery. As a frequent airline passenger, I'm not completely comforted by that. However, not every mystery gets solved.

The black box must be gone off by now. I think there's little chance of finding the plane. As Moxie says, not every mystery gets solved, although I read somewhere yesterday that they believe they've finally found the ship Christopher Columbus discovered America in, the Santa Maria.

Things like this, we don't expect them to happen nowadays. There's so much surveillance and hardware and technology, it just doesn't seem real that a whole airplane full of passengers could go missing... :nono

I still like travelling by plane though :/

when you look at where the plane is meant to be..

in the southern indian ocean / borderline southern ocean (above Antarctic, in the void between aussie/Antarctica/south America in water over 12' 000ft deep(??)..and all that ocean floor is often rugged and undulating..

its about as remote as you could get anywhere on the planet :(..and throw in some scary south atlantic storms as well.
