About Prague:

Prague, capital of the Czech Republic, is bisected by the Vltava River. Nicknamed The City of a Hundred Spires, it's known for its Old Town Square, the heart of its historic core, with colourful baroque buildings, Gothic churches and the medieval Astronomical Clock, with a popular show. Completed in 1402, pedestrian Charles Bridge is lined with 30 statues of saints.

Pretty big blow for the tournament losing their top seed.

Pliskova said she had been struggling for the last couple of weeks and has been on antibiotics,I think she has made the right decision pending the bigger tournaments on clay before RG Madrid and Rome.

Sounds like mononucleosis.

If it continues she should have a blood test which can pick up mono.Maybe she could have a slight strain, rest is the answer, hard when you are a professional athlete.

I'm surprised Petra enters Stuttgart, but doesn't play her home tourney.

Hey, they both are not in the same week. She might have wanted to be fresh for Madrid (which is a bigger tourney) and so might have decided not to play for this week. Further, she might have wanted a Porsche.

Jil Teichmann takes the title in Prague. 7-6 (5), 3-6, 6-4

In a week of WTA maiden titles, this was another.

Teichmann is ranked 146 in the world and a qualifier. Her opponent Karolina Muchova was a wild card.
