I am a big fan of Dustin Brown (and it is not just because he beat Ralph). I really like his serve and volley play on grass and also like his various fun and trick shots. It is high time to have a separate thread dedicated to following him and assembling his fans together.

He has won no titles, never entered top 50 and lost more matches than won in ATP tour. This is really puzzling to me.

His current ranking is 170. I hope he clears the qualifying and gets into MD of Wimbledon.

He recently won a challenger (on clay) and took out #1 seed in Stuttgart. Hence, I hope he is in good form.

My all time favorite of Dreddy's shots is the following.

It is a service return drop shot. Although drop shot is widely used these days, it is rare that someone uses it on service return.

Here is the fun part. It has so much back spin that after hitting the opponent's court, it bounces back to Dreddy's side.

It is part of the above compilation, but is difficult to see the details in the above compilation and so look in this clip.

See which ball boy runs to get the ball.

I thought Dreddy was given wildcard into the quals of Halle. But, he is not in the draw of qualifying. Most probably he was given (as I remember reading so somewhere), but he declined as he just now lost in Stuttgart and had to make a five hour drive to get to Halle.
But, he will be playing doubles in Halle with Tim Putz, a doubles specialist from Germany.

Brown and Puetz have won their opening doubles match in Halle and thus are in QF. Will face Struff and his partner in QF.

dreddy hitting that backspin dropshot that bounced back over the net (in challenger title run in spring)..:cheerleader::dance2:

if i had not have seen it i'd have said that so much backspin to do that was impossible.

Dreddy lost in the QF in doubles. Struff and his partner beat them.

Anyway, Dreddy got good practice. Five singles matches in Stuttgart (including two in qualifying there) and two doubles matches in Halle.
I think with that kind of practice on grass, he should be able to qualify next week for the Wimbledon by winning three matches against easier opponents.

You really want your favourites to be singing this song all the time then

though you feel like singing this song at the moment
. Lol.

Ha! I get you. The mood you're in you need to relieve your stress by drumming so need the extra rhythm. (When I need to relieve stress I need to sing songs with high notes.)
