Rod Stewart In the Studio performing the 'Demo' of the Hit Single 'Maggie May'. Making up the words as he goes along, the words that Rod sings bear no resemblance and are completely unrecognisable to ones in the eventual No.1 Hit.

Glad you liked it. OK here's an outtake of Otis's classic 'Dock of the Bay' with Steve Cropper providing 'Seagull' noises. Check out Otis response after this take -

Jackie Wilson and Lavern Baker X rated outtake of 'Think Twice. With spicy lyrics. Just shows that even in the early 1960's they had profanities :clap ' -

I prefer this version. I always thought the sax was too loud and irritating.

Good on tented. A few people have commented to me exactly what you said (on another forum and topic similar to this). Have you listened and compared the two 'You Better Think Twice' versions ? Another one worth looking up is The Blenders 'Don't F..k around with Love' and their commercial release 'Don't Fool Around With Love'. Both were in 1953 and are on YT.

John Lennon - I'm the Greatest. John wrote and demo'd this for Ringo Starr who would record it on his 'Ringo' album (1973). Both Ringo and George Harrison feature on this.

The King - Merry Xmas Baby. This is probably the most complete version, sans the overdubs (including an unfortunate posthumous 'duet' with Gretchen Wilson) . Elvis , as the song goes along, add libs comments to the musicians here and there, 'Wake Up Tutt' Great stuff...

Good on you, Tented. I have three more to add (for now LOL) -

Bobby Darin - Dream Lover

Eddie Cochran - Let's Get Together (song was later re-recorded and retitled to the version that the Rock n Roll World knows...and (1950's music tragics like me) Loves)

Jumping eras now -

There are one or two serious missteps in the keyboards, so I can see why this ultimately wasn't used. But the vocal is great.

Yeah, Mr. Lynne loves a soundboard and all the studio goodies of the time. This is an interesting take, revealing he didn't need so much icing.
