On Friday, we’re heading to Houston ATP 250 tournament’s 1/8 where Cameron Norrie and Janko Tipsarevic square up. Both talented players will play in a serious confrontation. Review our thoughts on this match here below.

Cameron Norrie
Cameron Norrie – British talent step by step getting his way through to a solid Top 100 spot. His upswing started in 2017 when after a very good season he managed to win 3 trophies. Soon after he managed to make a pretty quick transition from Challenger tour to ATP tour which isn’t that easy. Managed to get some known scalps under his belt and was quite a riddle to many of tour regulars. Although didn’t have good results in recent Masters tournaments it’s still a good year for Cam as he already reached an ATP final where ended up being runner up to Tennys Sandgren.

This brit is a very good baseliner, is a lefty, has a very good backhand, plays well on clay which isn’t so common for brits, has big swings, so does need a bit more time on the ball. Norrie is 1.88m tall so perfect height for a tennis player in order of movement and being able to make some damaged on serve as well. Though like we said doesn’t mind playing on clay his best surface still is hard.

Janko Tipsarevic
Janko Tipsarevic is a well-known name in tennis and having had a lot of injuries in his career he’s reached a point where in our eyes results are not that important for him he would just like to play as much tennis as he physically can and enjoy it. Made a solid return to Masters series in Miami. Started great in previous round beating a very tough Tennys Sandgren 6-1 7-6. All in all, Serb isn’t playing enough matches to be a consistently sharp ant that can make a big influence on his results.

Tipsarevic’s backhand is his signature shot, though has a very good serve and used to be a great mover on the court. A lot of memorable moments in his career and who knows maybe there’s still some more along the way.
