Watching Sabalenka v Mboko. @kskate2 : is this Nike kit with block colors the one you don't like? I like it. Anyway, hoping Mboko makes a good match of it.

Do you enjpy watching "going for broke" tennis w/ women? Arnya finished off that 1st set nicely at the net! It makes sense to have "put aways" at the net other than just pounding the ball from the baseline! It becomes so much an anomaly to slice a few times in a row, the crowd actually reacts to it! How sick is that? :astonished-face::yawningface::fearful-face::anxious-face-with-sweat:

Good to see Vicky putting up a fight and contest in the 2nd set over Saba
TB now in progress in the 2nd set, though Saba has a outstanding TB record
Saba too good in the TB winning it 76(1)
Good to see Vicky playing better in the 2nd set
Sabalenka d Mboko 61 76(1)
BTW that was Sabalenka's 20th straight TB in a major and her 13 consecutive GS QF, a tad consistent No :)

Young American Jovic (29) just handed Poots a bagel for lunch
I love watching this youngster.
Jovic (29) in a great display of tennis defeat Putintseva 60 61
Jovic will face Sabalenka in her next match

One of the best sets of tennis I have seen Gauff play this year, she is playing the tricky and all court player in Muchova
Gauff 1st set 61
Muchova has turned things round in the 2nd set, finding her groove and re directing her shots she has won the 2nd set 63
Going 3 I like both players and it will be sad to see one of them out of the AO
BTW this is the first time in 4 meetings that Muchova has taken a set of Gauff, Gauff leads their H2H 4-0
2 great athletes with contrasting styles, I love watching them play against each other!
Coco in control of the 3rd set, Muchova making too many ufe and not moving her feet, for some unknown reason
Coco 4-1 3rd set
On her 4th MP Gauff d Muchova 61 36 63
A really enjoyable match, as I said before pity someone had to lost., but Gauff deserved her victory and she moves on to the QFs
Gauff will play the winner of the Andreeva v Svitolina in her QF match

Svitolina seals it in 2. Andreeva really played poorly, but kudos to Elina for seizing the opportunity.

Just finished watching the match Andreeva v Svitolina, I watched the first few games, Andreeva making far too many UFE and her focus in the match was poor
Svitolina deserved her win, the match in general didnt reach any great heights
Quite frankly a frustrating performance from Andreeva in a grand slam appearance, Mirra's lack of focus is a concern, I gave her a pass in 2025, now she can play the tour full time, she is finding it not that easy, she has the game, lacking the focus in important points in a match that has been her downfall since the latter part of 2025.
Mirra won Adelaide in fine fashion before the AO, that was her first title since IW, in 2025.

Okay I have just tuned into Jess v Madison's match which has just started
Keys leads their H2H 2-1
Jess was on the front foot in this match, sharp, went to a lead of 4-1, Madison has finally found her range, fhand and return and we are back on serve
Dear me all that hard work for Madison to get back on serve, she makes error after error
Jess will serve for the 1st set 5-3
Jess 6-3 1st set
Identical 2nd set to the 1st set, Pegula has kept Madison off balance on the base line, she has also been good with chip returns, she hasnt got the biggest serve, though she has placed her serve well
Jess leads 4-1

Jess will serve for the match at 5-4 for a place in the QF, she has kept Madison off balance on the baseline, used a lot of variety today in serve and has returned Madisons serve well and has kept Madison on the run

Well done Jess a well thought out and deserved victory
Jess will play the winner of Anisimova or Wang in the QFs

BTW Madison was defending championship points and sad to say will drop out of the Top Ten

BTW Iga Swaitek has spat her dummy not for the first time mind you :)
She didnt want a night match on RLA tonight she wanted a day match
Anyway seeing an Aussie Inglis is going to play her and Channel 9 has the TV rights and main broadcaster of the AO, said NO
Iga btw the SFs are played early evening at the AO and it would be in your best interests to have more practice at night
