Watching Sabalenka v Mboko. @kskate2 : is this Nike kit with block colors the one you don't like? I like it. Anyway, hoping Mboko makes a good match of it.
Yes. The Saba one is the main one. It's awful. There's neon orange and pink w/ a spot of black on the front and royal blue undies. Ughh... What really would've have been cute is a blk/wht color combo, but what do I know.

Conchita has some serious work to do w/ the teen queen. She was dismal last night. There's no way Svito should be dictating against her.

This was the expected result for Keys. She won her lone slam and I didn't expect her to follow up this year w/ even a SF. Maddy is back to doing Maddy things like playing down to the level of her competition. Oh well, no one can take last year away and it was fine ride indeed. I suspect she will drop out of the top 10.

As I am packing for Melbourne and watching Mertens and Rybakina match
The Heat Stress Level has reached level 4 30 c and players can have a extended break
Mertens should have taken the extended break she lost the 1st set to Rybakina 6-1

I can't stay up anymore for this one. Seems like a foregone conclusion. Enjoy Melbourne and the Open, Margaret! Stay cool!

I agree Keli, after winning the Adelaide Open in fine fashion I was confident she would have a solid AO, she seems to have gone back like she did in the last part of then 2025 season, her focus went, making too many ufe and Elina shoulnt have beaten her, it wasnt a great match at all, more of a disappointment.

Watching the match between Swaitek v Q Aussie Inglis, Iga handed her a bagel 1st set, Inglis only got through because Osaka withdrew with abdominal injury, she is no match for Iga, more of a training session for Iga,, first time Inglis has played a Top Ten player so I cant really get her form, as she will play Rybakina in the QF, who can take the racquet out of Iga's hands being a big hitter.
Well done Inglis you are on the board in the 2nd set
Swaitek d Inglis 60 63, Swiatek will play Rybakina in the QF match

Seeing I am leaving for the AO today I will miss the day match between Sabalenka v Jovic, with the temp projected to reach 45c, the day match will start earlier, though if the temp does rise we could see the 'extended break' rule come in if the Heat Stress reaches 4, if he reaches 5 they will close the roof.
I feel this will be a good learning curve for the young American, who has all the confidence in the world, and why not, she has a great all round game, Sabalenka to me will have too much experience at this level and I expect her to win.

I will be live for the night match Yeah! as long as I dont melt away in the heat lol!
Gauff vs Svitolina Coco leads their H2H 2-1
Gauff played the best 1st set of tennis all year as far as I was concerned when she was playing Muchova the other day, that was Coco at her best.
I expect a Gauff win,

BTW,
Vera Zvonareva 41, is into another GS doubles QF with her partner Shibahara they defeated the No 6 seeds Muhammad/Routliffe 75 36 61
Also 2025 R/U Ostapenko/Hsieh are also back in the QFs, Ostapenko is proving to be more of a doubles player these days than a singles player

I am sitting in RLA watching Coco vs Elina 1st set 61
Elina came out all guns firing just like she did in her match against Andreeva, really the best 1st set of tennis I have seen from Elina, also she has lost weight though looks very fit, Coco and her DFs is a concern I have counted 6 so far
Though in their 2 previous meetings Coco has lost the first set against Elina and has come back to beat her so there is hope
